MFP is in Swedish & I don't know why
I don't read/speak Swedish. MFP is in Swedish. I've checked the translation in Chrome to English, but MFP comes back to Swedish. Every time I open MFP, it's in Swedish. I'm starting to think MFP's 'brokeness' is a sad method to sell premium. Want to add new foods? Premium! Want to read the site in your native language?…

Can't add new foods
"There was an error processing your request. Please try again later." I had this problem before and MFP fixed it. Now it's back. I'm using Chrome on PC.

Measuring rice and pasta - before or after cooking?
It dawned on me last night that I'm probably wrongly measuring my pasta and rice servings. I usually measure them before cooking, then dish out half between my husband and myself. Am I supposed to measure after cooking?

Daily goals change to what MFP thinks is correct
My custom goals (calories, carbs, fats, protein, and iron) get reset from what works for me to what MFP thinks they should be. This has been happening for 4 days. I am using MFP via a desktop computer, not a smartphone.

When the nutrition info changes [rant/vent]
I looked at the back of the smoked mussels I've been eating for the iron. Yeah, everything changed. *sigh* At least I caught it after eating only one can. Idk where the mussels came from before, but the new ones are 'responsibly farmed', which is great. I'm just annoyed about losing 61% iron per serving. Y'all know the…

A very tiny success for me
I've only overeaten 2 days this week. Considering my average OE days over the passed year have been 5-6 each week due to more crippling depression and hormone imbalance, I guess that's good. I'm still getting a box of something from the store bakery today. Baby steppies.

Random question for Depo Provera users
If you've used Depo, when did you stop getting your period (if you did)? The info I can find about this is 39% stop getting periods after 6 months of use. 57% stop after 1 year of use. Nothing about the first 6 months/first 2 shots. Asking because my GP wants me to stop having periods since she's positive my low iron is…

Iron infusion ? asking here because can't find anywhere else
The internet isn't giving me any sort of answer other than the side effects. Anyway, I'm trying to find out if iron infusions are supposed to do anything other than get your iron up quickly. I know I'm impatient but, for some stupid reasoning, I think having iron injected directly into my blood would work slightly faster…

For those who've had iron shots
(This isn't the right forum, but there isn't a forum for general health questions and my Google-fu is coming up with nothing useful.) I have to get iron shots at a hospital. Now, the medical people have been calling them shots, but are they actually shots (needle in the arm/butt) or is shots just a short term for IV…

No milk on cereal? WAT?!
While eating my Kellogg's corn flakes, I thought about the reasons why I'm not putting milk in my cereals. 1. Not worth the calories. 2. Cereal tastes fine on its own. 3. Using the cereal in something else. 4. The milk's gone off. 5. There's no milk at all. 6. My hands are too crippled with pain/shaking too much to hold a…

Linking Garmin to MFP?
Not sure where to ask this. Here seems good as this is about a fitness tracker. I have a new Garmin vivosmart 3 tracker. I have the option to link it to my MFP account for calorie tracking. I'm wondering this linking will work the same as Fitbit did years ago. I had Fitbit linked years ago, but unlinked it because I would…

Where to find seaweed/nori wraps?
I've been looking for seaweed wraps (like used for sushi) in my 3 grocery stores - Coleman's, Sobeys, and Dominion - and not found them. I checked in the international foods aisle and the deli where the sushi is sold. Is there a place in a regular grocery that I missed, or do I have to find if this town has an Asian…

Sabotage: I get how it feels
If I was ever a smartbutt to anyone about "my friends/family/coworkers are sabotaging me!", I apologise because I get it now. I'm hard struggling to NOT overeat every day and NOT eat to make myself feel better, and people keep bringing me food. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z5rRZdiu1UE

Fitbit & electricity protip
Be sure to discharge any static electricity build-up before removing your Fitbit from the charging cable. Apparently, I killed my One this way this morning. No I can't get a replacement because I don't have my receipt from 2 years ago.

Why I don't lift weights in the winter
I still shovel out the driveway by hand. Burned around 300 calories for 67 minutes of shoveling. My poor abs!

This was a mistake
TFW when you find a recipe for a faster/easier/simpler way to make a trigger/binge/overeating food. I found a recipe for a 6" pie crust. I love pie dough. Easy to resist when I don't have it, but I have it. In my freezer. Waiting. Why is baking/cooking the best way for me to relieve boredom? I end up making foods that…

2 years later: For the lurkers update
My original success story - http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10316526/for-the-lurkers-173-lost-pics-numbers/p1 TL;DR - My life is in shambles, but I kept the weight off. Still a success? 2016, I spent "finding maintenance" and lost an additional 10#. 2017, I knew my weight range (129-133#), had a good grasp…

Stupid condensed soup question
TL;DR Is the serving size for condensed soup only, or soup + water? So I ate tomato soup last night. Gave myself 1/2 cup (125 mL) prepared soup (condensed with water). The can doesn't say prepared or condensed, just 125 mL serving. I know water doesn't have calories, but it does have volume. 125 mL is pretty tetchy, but…

I've become one of "those people"
The ones who can't have certain foods in their house or the food gets devoured in 5 minutes. It's only certain foods, sometimes cookies, sometimes chips, sometimes nuts. I can have a cheat and be over it the next day. October birthday hit and I couldn't jump the hump back to maintenance. I think it's perimenopause and the…

Does PegLyte have calories?
Having a colonoscopy tomorrow and have to drink PegLyte. I'm logging it. In the database, there's an entry that has nothing, but I found one on another site that lists it as having 3875 calories for 4L. There's, of course, nothing on the bottle it comes in regarding nutrition other than ingredients.

I found Cora's nutritional information!
http://www.chezcora.com/files/Guide-valeurs-nutritives_QC_en.pdf Jackpot! The listings are in French, but it can be figured out using a Google translator (or you could just learn French ;) ).

When people think you know what you're doing
My husband got his blood word results back and his cholesterol is high enough to require meds. Our GP wants him to lose weight (30# in 6 months) to see how that affects it before she'll prescribe him anything. She also put me in charge of his diet/weight loss. Yes, I've lost 184#. That doesn't mean I know wtf I'm doing. It…
