Tips for countering self-sabotage?
One of my biggest issues is that I do fine for two or three days, lose a few pounds and then immediately sabotage. Some times I'll be thinking, okay, I can do this now, I know what to do and it's not that hard and then I relax and let myself have some treats and boom I gain three pounds in one day. Since I've turned 50, my…

Older women success stories please!
I'm starting to get intimidated by all the 20 something people who lose 100 lbs and look AMAZING!! I'm afraid that when I lose my 60 lbs, I'm still going to look like an "eh" 45 year old. I also have heard that it's so much harder to lose weight post-menopause. Should I just throw in the towel now?:ohwell:

Hungry but over daily calories
Hello, I’ve recently given up chocolate and am trying to limit refined sugars and stick to my calories. I’m usually 100 or 200 over but not much. Today I’m over a little and very hungry. Is it better to just brush my teeth and go to bed and hope I don’t wake up in the middle of the night starving or try to have a snack?…

I've got this!... NOT
Anybody have a problem with overconfidence? I do one or two days staying to my MFP goals and I think "this is easy, no problem" and immediately start backsliding. It seems like I'm trying to sabotage myself how fast I revert to bad patterns of eating. Anyone else?

Insomnia - is it better to sleep or exercise?
It’s 4 am, I only slept about 3 hours. Should I cancel my 5 am trainer so I can try to get two hours of sleep or get up in one hour?

Every day I start out strong...
And then I get tired and just start eating things that put me above my limits. Ideas for resisting?

there is no way!...
I'm going to get through this week without gaining. I'm so close to my first micro-goal (I've been gaining and losing the same two pounds for weeks now and I'm finally close to crossing a threshold) but I have book club tonight, a big Mexican Grito party tomorrow night, an event at the Mexican Embassy Thursday night and…

what is wrong with me?!!!
I weighed in this morning at my highest in recent months (almost all the way up to my all-time high). I haven't tracked in ages. I feel enormous. I need to get down at least 5 lbs before Nov. 6 because I'm going to a Marine Ball and don't want to feel like a whale. I'm sitting here in pain because the waist band of my…

Ever try logging a "tasting menu"?
The other night, we went out to a fabulous meal but we had at least 16 "courses" and each one had at least three or four separate ingredients. I thought about just manually entering it as 3000 calories and being done with it but I'm curious what others have done in this situation. :)

Protein macro too low?
Hey there, I'm looking at my food for the day so far and I can't figure out why it's telling me I'm already over my protein macro. I had 3 egg whites with a little mozz cheese for breakfast and 3/4 of a chicken breast with veggies for lunch. I had some sweet stuff too but none with significant protein and I've still got…

Am I the only one whose body has an expiration date?!
I was going along fine, then last year everything started to fall apart! I hit 46 and I got plantar fasciitis, incredible knee pain, I have a Morton's neuroma and nothing stretches anymore. I still work out about 4 times a week but it doesn't seem to be helping. Does it ever get better again, or should I give up now and…

ate all my calories :(
I'm so sad, I went out for lunch and had the steak combo (with sausage and spinach au gratin). I made them take the potato smothered in cheese off the plate but I'm still really bummed with myself and disappointed that I'm starting the week off so badly. I do have a 30 minute zumba and 30 minute yoga class tonight but it…

Anyone else struggle with weekends?
Every single time, I eat fine Monday through Friday and gain it all back on the weekends. Even when I can go for a good, long run, I still end up eating too much junk and not tracking and end up overeating. What are people's tips for dealing with the weekend?

Vegetarian substitute for chicken broth?
Hey vegetarians, I'm not vegetarian but I'm making a recipe (soup) for a potluck and I want as many people as possible to be able to enjoy it. The only meat thing is the chicken broth. What would be a good substitute that would keep the flavor as close as possible? Thanks! Rachel

How do you deal with complacency?
I usually do well for several days, or a week, or weeks and lose some weight and then I relax and think I can eat whatever I want again. How do you all deal with that?

Name one "bad" food that doesn't taste delicious!
I know there's no such thing as "bad" or "good" foods but I'm trying to think of one food that is super high in calories, or fats, or sugars, carbohydrates, etc. that doesn't taste yummy. It's easy to do for "good" foods, since I love all kinds of vegetables, some fruits, sushi, etc. but I'm having a hard time coming up…

Help! flat Reese's Peanut Butter Eggs
Hey there, For Easter I bought some Reese's pb eggs (big bag) but they were not as big as the ones wrapped in yellow. They were closer to the "mini" size but they are flat on one side. I'm just trying to find the nutritional information on these since I threw out the wrappers already.

who to believe? treadmill or website?
So, I just did 30 minutes on the treadmill. It said I was on a 7% incline and walking at 5 mph. The treadmill said I burned 250 calories (without entering my weight, age, etc.) This website http://www.mygraphite.com/free-tools/exercise-calorie-calculator said I burned 467 calories if I was on a 6% incline. So, who to…

I hate lifting!! Looking for bodypump video
But the only way I could make myself do it was by going to a bodypump class. Now I live in Colombia and none of the gyms seem to offer bodypump. I went on-line looking for a bodypump video and the only thing I could find was Bodycombat and RPM. What is the closest thing to a bodypump class?

what's your worst eating situation?
I think I just experienced mine last night. A buffet, I can handle (go through the line once, tiny portions, lots of veg). I can do okay with a menu (find stuff that is grilled, no creamy sauce, lots of veg, don't eat the bread basket), but give me a reception with hors d'oeuvres or a tapas meal and I'm sunk. Last night,…

ISO lightweight roomy (in the thighs) workout pants!
Once upon a time, a long time ago, I found some workout pants that fit. They were C9 at Target, and a very lightweight, thin fabric (kind of an airtech fabric) and had enough room for my enormous thighs. They were regular length and straight but not clingy anywhere. They were flattering and cool and covered my legs.…
