I went on a lovely long walk on the beach. Why does my back hurt so much?

Do you usually walk that far?0

The sand was shifting while you were walking, it’s not a stable base. You likely twisted your back without realizing it until later.5

Weak core + uneven terrain can do that.3

Lack of resistance training for your back would be my first guess with the info you've given.1

You may walk with bad posture, that is, allowing your lower spine to overarch. I have this issue and have learned to consciously roll my hips under myself.3

Do you pull in your core while walking? My lower back would hurt when I would walk on the treadmill, until I started tightening my core.3
