Eating enough fiber, drinking water- still constipated!
I just cannot seem to be able to move my bowels in a normal manner. I'll be backed up and feel icky and bloated for a few days to have a day of constant bathroom trips complete with runny oily stools. Then the cycle starts back up again! I seemed to poop more regularly and "normally" before I EVER watched what I was eating…

What foods do you consider your essentials?
I'm curious if others eat certain foods almost every single day because of their nutritional value or just plain "yum" factor. Here are mine: -Apple -Some form of cheese (cottage cheese, laughing cow wedge, mini babybel, light string cheese, or fat free cream cheese) -Pepperidge Farm Light Extra Fiber Wheat Bread OR…

Eating clean/ organic/ vegetarian.
I've been reevaluating my eating even further and am interested in cutting back significantly on processed foods, possibly meats, and just overall increase my clean eating. I'm not entirely sure if at this point in time I can afford to eat 100% organic. I'm also not sure if my family would be very accommodating with…

30 pounds down- and a picture!
This was just taken a few moments ago. I'm still hoping to loose at least another ten pounds.

Cereal?
Is there such a thing as actually healthy cereal? It seems like everything is so sugar loaded and worthless nutritionally. I love natural granolas but they seem so high in calories that I've been apprehensive! I've heard of plain old oats. Is this a good option?

Being realistic about starvation level.
I've been on this site for over 7 months now and have truly been enjoying my new lifestyle and the weight loss that comes with it. I feel as if I have a good understanding of weight loss, health, and nutrition. I know that I'm making much smarter choices when it comes to food than I ever have before. But something keeps…

Logging middle of the night/ sleep eating?
This doesn't happen much to me but sometimes I will wake up in the middle of the night (like 3am) and find myself eating. I'm mostly awake but kind of out of it. I understand that I might want to see a doctor about it but I'm looking for everyone's input as to where/how to log this. For example- last night at 3am I ate…

finally broke my plateau!
I just had to announce that I finally after like 5 weeks steady around 145-147 lbs broke my plateau. Yesterday morning the scale read 144.2 lbs and this morning was 144.0 lbs. I know it might not seem like much at all but I am soo happy over this. I haven't weighed under 145 lbs in a little over two years! This is such a…

Waking up earlier/ staying awake longer= eating more!
So I used to sleep in late (like 10:30am), grab lunch and then head off to class. I'd be in bed by 11pm. My schedule has changed quite a bit over the past month or so. I now wake up around 7:30am and am in bed around midnight. This presents problems for me as I now am eating breakfast and snacking more. I find if I don't…

Eating disorder, self esteem, size 6 is fat..URGH.
Okay. So... I'm a size 6 jean. And I feel FAT FAT FAT FAT. I've lost 26 lbs or so so far but I feel like I look bigger than before. I obsess nonstop about food, calories, my weight, etc. It's so time consuming and exhausting. I can't pay attention in my college classes sometimes due to thinking about food or feeling dizzy…

When to switch from weight loss to maintaince goals?
Okay. So I'm currently trying to figure out what I want and where I need to be with this whole weight loss/ healthy lifestyle. I've been following this site and using it to count calories and track exercise for about 5 months now. I've lost around 25/27 pounds. I went from a size 12/14 jean to a size 6/8. I notice…

Vitamin Water Outrage!
They have no business calling this stuff water. It should be called Vitamin Juice but it contains no juice. It has 150 calories in a typical bottle, 50 cals per 8 oz. It also has more than 7g sugar, maybe 13g- I'm not certain per 8oz. URGH. I didn't even drink the stuff.

Obsession/ Eating disorder?
Okay so I've noticed myself obsessing over food/weight/exercise. It consumes so much of my time. I have weird habits that I've taken to while eating (for example, I must cut up an apple into tiny slices to eat it, I cannot and will not eat it without it being sliced). On occasion, I will "binge" (I use the term binge…

WOOHOO! Got my body fat % tested.
It's a 24.5%. Not too shabby if I say so myself!

Kind of bragging, but also need feedback. (PIC)
Okay. So I've lost about 24 pounds so far. I've gone done about 2 jean sizes. I am a 20 year old female who is 5' 4" tall. I am currently weighing a size 8 jean in women's (approximately) and my measurement around my belly button is 34". I weigh 147/148 pounds or so at this moment. I'm trying to figure out how much more…

Confused about clothing sizes.
When I measure myself, right at my navel I am 34" around. When I purchase jeans however that sit on my hips (they are very lowrise!) they are only 28's.I checked with my clothing company and supposedly the numerical number on the jeans are indeed in inches. My hips are wider than where I measure myself. So, what's the…

Wondering what my goal weight should be?
I started my weight loss journey at 172 pounds. I'm a 5' 3" tall female. I'm 19 years old. I was wearing a size 12 women's jean or a size 134 juniors jean when I began. I'm now around 149 pounds and in a size 8 jean in womens and a size 9 jean in juniors. I can see the weight loss in myself to an amazing extent. Other can…

Loosing too fast/ double what MFP projects?
So I have my calculations set at a projected 1 pound a week weight loss or a 500 daily calorie deficit. I put myself as lightly active even though I'm probably not because I don't want to eat less than my BMR and throw myself into starvation mode. I'm seeing amazing results and have lost 20 pounds in a little less than 9…

How do I stop bulking up?
My arms (in particular my biceps) are really starting to bulk up and look somewhat manly. How do I stop this? I have heard that lighter weights with more repetition tone rather than build mass, but when I even pick up a 7 or so pound weighted dumbbell I feel like it's absolutely nothing at all no matter how many reps I do.

Not supposed to eat under BMR number? HELP.
I've heard and gathered that it's not recommended to eat less than your BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate) in calories daily. Well, according to this website, my BMR is 1485 calories. According to another site, it's around 1565 calories. However, MFP currently puts me at 1480 calories daily allowance to loose a pound a week. If…

My family always wants to eat at UNHEALTHY places!
I'm a college student that lives on campus but comes home weekends. Every Friday night, my family goes out to dinner. I've run into a bit of a problem with this. They always want to go to horribly unhealthy chain restaurants. Tonight, they insisted that we go to Cici's Pizza Buffet. Both my parents are also overweight-- my…

gaining muscle during calorie deficit?
Just read on another thread that gaining muscle while on a calorie deficit is impossible. But I've significantly noticed that my abs are stronger and harder.. my calves are more pronounced and stronger, and my biceps/triceps as well. Am I doing something wrong? I've lost weight steadily. I'm kind of confused.

Loosing weight too fast?
I've been embracing my new fitness and diet routine for two and a half weeks now. I've already lost 6 pounds. I eat almost exactly what MFP tells me to. If I don't eat all the calories alloted, it's on an exercise day and I still make sure to eat at least 1,200 net calories to avoid putting my body into starvation. There…

Calories left over at the end of the day, but over in everyt
I have found myself as of recent having as much as 200-300 or so calories left over at the end of the day. I realize this is good for the most part but I'm over in EVERYTHING else. I have too many sugars, protein, and fat..I'm not worried about the protein because I've been strength training and wouldn't mind gaining…
