T2B - How to accomplish?
Our WOD today has roughly 40 of these. I have a hard time even getting my hands to grip for very long, much less to swing my legs to bring my feet up to the bar. What would be a good scale for this? Sit ups? Also, what can I do to help strengthen my grip to be able to hold out....outside of losing weight, which I am…

Ladies! I need some advice/opinions. (Poss TMI)
I have been on BCP since I was 17 or so to regulate my periods. I'm 36 now, and my gyno told me that BCP was never meant for long term use and wanted me to get the Mirena inserted. My appointment is for Monday, but I'm looking up information online about this and the reviews are all over the place! A lot of women say that…

Deal with grief and getting back on the horse
I've been absent from here for a while and from crossfit since right before Thanksgiving. My brother died on Thanksgiving, and so I've been dealing with helping my parents make arrangements, getting his affairs in order, and trying to deal with my own grief. Problem is that I've missed crossfit and think it would be a…

I think my boyfriend sending this to me is supposed to tell me something..... now.msn.com/signs-youre-addicted-to-crossfit

Is Crossfit enough or add additional lifting?
I crossfit mostly 4, but sometimes 5 times per week. They do incorporate lifting with squats (front and back) deadlifts, and lifting during the CWOD (conditioning workout of the day). I feel so much stronger than I did when I started in April 2013. Example: I started at a 10 lb kettlebell and am now at a 27 lb kettlebell.…

Is hunger a good sign?
Hello! I've been in the group, but first time posting. I'm 5'4.5", and am 180.5 lbs. I do crossfit 4-5 times per week. Our crossfit box had the hydrostatic water tank people come in to officially give us our body fat %. They also told me that based upon my weight, activity level, etc. I wasn't losing weight because I was…

Post WOD Meals
Based upon the suggestions of coaches, I am upping my calories. I'm also trying to implement a PWO meal into the mix. I currently go to the 5:30 WOD, and I don't get home until 6:45ish. I'm the one who cooks. So, I'll quickly shower and then prep meals (or reheat if I prepared ahead of time). Most times we're eating dinner…

Hydrostatic body fat testing
Our box is doing a major paleo challenge that includes us getting our body fat tested via hydrostatic body fat testing in a water tank. They measure us before and at the end of the challenge, and you get points on the amount of lean mass gained and fat lost. It's supposed to be highly scientific..... Has anyone done this…

Sore outer hands...
I did my last WOD on Wednesday. I noticed all day today that my outer hands (fleshy part up to the knuckles) is pretty sore to the touch like I smashed it. They're not swollen or bruised though. Only thing I can think of is that after my first round into Jack, my coach upped my KB from the 18 lb I had to 26 lb. The 18 had…

How to not feel bad about my abilities....
I'm about 4 months or so into Crossfit. I entered into it being VERY out of shape to the point of doing 2 pushups on my knees wasn't happening. Now I can string 20 or so on my knees before I have to break. So, I've improved but am nowhere near where others are. Our box is doing a Baseline WOD today. Two levels:…

On RAMP
I've seen/heard others speak of this when they're first starting out Crossfit. I started in late April and outside of my first day when I had to do the standard WOD (500m Row, 50 quasts, 40 situps, 30 pushups, 20 ring rows or something like that), I've always done the WOD but just scaled down to my ability. Is On Ramp…

She's BAAAAAAAACK!
Just got a PM from Health_Gal. I thought I blocked her, but apparently, I can still get messages. Highlights: "I hope you haven't been injured from doing Crossfit yet." :ohwell: and "BTW, I sent this as a personal message instead of posting on the forum because there's a bunch of Crossfit fanatics that don't want anyone to…

Tweak in Back....continue to WOD?
I woke up this morning with a tweak in my back along my shoulder blade. I know it's from sleeping wrong, and I've been putting Icy Hot on it along with massaging it. I still notice it when I move my head into certain angles/positions. It's not horrible, but it is annoying and noticeable. Here is today's WOD for my box. If…

Crossfit 24 Day Challenge
My box is going to do a 24 day body challenge, of which I am signed up to do. I found out that you have to take some Advocare 24 Day pill and drink thing. I know nothing about this company, what this stuff it, or if it even works. Anybody else's box do this or has anyone else done Advocare?

Sore knees after Saturday's WOD
I've been crossfitting for almost 2 months, give or take a week. My coaches tell me I have good form and mobility on my squats. After a WOD with a lot of squat movements, my quads will be pretty sore with a little soreness on my glutes and hams. I took this as me not sitting back on my heels during the pushup part, which…

Crossfit before a 5K??
I signed up to do a 5K with a friend of mine a while ago. Fast forward ----> now the 5k is tomorrow morning. I've been crossfitting for a bit @ 3-4x/week (M-W-F-S). However, not much "prepping" for the actual 5K, unless you count the WOD sprints, 200, or 400 meter runs. Tonight is a crossfit night. WOD looks beastly. Don't…

I know "can't" and "won't" in Crossfit are 4 letter words
All I'm going to say is that the probability is "highly unlikely" that I'll ever be able to do a handstand, much less a HSPU. I took dance and gymnastics as a child, and that was the one thing my brain could never wrap its head around doing. Eventually, as a child instructors just kinda gave up on me. As an overweight…

Advice for a newbie...
Hello, all CFers! I've been doing CF for about 5 weeks now. Prior to CF, I did not work out consistently, and I am not in shape whatsoever (55 lbs overweight with almost zero upper body strength). I go about 3 times per week (MWF), with the exception of the last two weeks. First week of the two, I was traveling all week…

STRESS!
I must say that I'm grateful for the Whole 30 in times of stress. My normal actions would be eat, nap, or possibly pour a cocktail or two after work, and order in pizza. Without these fall-backs to lean on in times of stress (like this time at work), I find that I actually have to FACE my stress head on and deal with it…

FitBit?
I'm very new to this MFP world....I noticed that there is a way to sync your FitBit with the information on here. I basically track my carbs/fat/protein ratio on here. No real concern for calories, but they do seem to be within 100 or so of what they state I should be in without really trying. That being said, I am curious…

Whole 30 Veteran - How's everyone doing??
Hello! I'm in my second Whole 30. Finished the first one December 27th, waited 5 or so days, and started my January one. Man, those 5 days proved to me that I needed to keep going with this Whole 30 because I was not yet to the "zone" to be off. Second Whole 30 seems to be much smoother. However, I am keeping track of my…
