Not sure where to put this post but here goes
Returning MFP member here. Where can I find my long time food list? Now I can't even find my coffee listed correctly. Have the MFP food entries disappeared and are they entirely replaced by user entries? Is there some way to recover my 2014/15 food list?

Decent brown sugar substitute
I need a brown sugar substitute for my diabetic hubby. I have seen lots of good reviews for Wave brown sugar but not sure. Any suggestions? He wants a brown sugar that can be made into a caramel type that will make a solid or crisp cookie.

My MFP obsession for health saved my hubbies life
In July 2012 I decided to lose weight. After reading all the inspiring stories on MFP, I decided to join in November 2012. I was obsessed with learning how to be healthy. I knew nothing about how to be healthy and lived on MFP message boards. As a then newby, I was worried about everything. I convinced my hubby that we…

Low calorie, low carb, low fat lemon meringue pie substitute (no coliflower involved)
I have been having a craving for lemon meringue pie. After weeks of cooking disasters, I finally found a satisfactory substitute. It is from a Betty Crocker cookbook from the 1970's. I simply replaced the sugar with Splenda and now I have a low cal lemony treat. Based on 6 servings per loaf pan, it is only 76 calories per…

Need ideas and hints for homemade instant oatmeal recipes
My hubby loves instant oatmeal packets but he has recently been diagnosed with diabetes. Not terrible numbers, but he needs to cut out sugar where he can. I would like to recreate his favorite which is cinnamon, brown sugar and raisins. It doesn't have to be exactly the same as the packets, it just needs to be close enough…

The mindset of maintenance without logging
I have been maintaining for about two years, but only six months without logging. During the time I was losing, I tried to read everything I could find about healthy eating, weight loss and exercise. I was on MFP all hours of the day. I memorized menus, calories of foods, created lower calorie recipes of my favorites.…

NSV
I can squat down and pick up a quarter from the floor without losing my balance or grabbing a piece of furniture. Weighted squats seem small, but they are very important.

NSV for maintaining
I have been lifting and have seen the scale weight go up, though my clothes are the same. I went from 124.4 to 136. Not nice for the head. Today, I had a pleasant lady that walked in my store and I admired her thin build. I thought in my head that Wow! this gal looks great! I feel too big and want to cut, so I am…

MInd over maintenance
I am having a mental problem with gaining weight because of working out. I am a full ten pounds heavier than my "goal" weight. My clothes are fitting the same or better. I am lifting weights and doing other weight training work. I can't seem to lose my focus of weighing my lowest, though I know getting stronger is best. I…

Sad tonight due to enexpeted young death
This is so hard. A child (30 years old) of close friends was killed in a car accident. I am praying for the comfort of his family. Grief and heart stricken right now. Please God, give comfort to his family.

Why am I still still hungry and pissed off at 1800 cals?
I did better mentally at 1200 calories, though I know I am also growing new tissue. This is hard stuff and I want to eat my house and all chocolate covered small animals in the vicinity. That is all. Thanks.

Is the interval training just helpful for weightloss?
I plan to start Stage 2 in the not very distant future. I am at my goal weight and I do not care about doing cardio or adding more time to my workout. Will skipping the interval training put me at a disadvantage in some other way? Unless I missed it, Stage 2 in the book only mentions interval training for calorie burn and…

What is your favorite exercise?
My current favorite is Swiss Ball crunch. Basically, you balance your back on a underinflated beach ball, plant your feet and do crunches.

NSV for me today!
I am almost done with Stage 1, so I have been peeking ahead to Stage 2. Since I work out at home, I have had to be creative in order to recreate the gym based moves. I have been looking around my house and asking hubby to try to think up something I could use for the wide-grip deadlift from box. I had no box that was…

What does food cost where you live?
A couple of months ago hubby and I visited the US southeast to visit family. I was shocked by the high prices! I live in a small town in the northwest US. At a Kroger in Savannah, Georgia, store brand white bread was $2.50. At my Walmart and (Safeway is within a few pennies), 94 cents. A gallon of milk at an alleged…

God is Real and He is Great!
I just want to share that I have been praying for two weeks for a particular thing (not weightloss related) to happen before the end of January. I really needed this thing to happen and as time went on, it didn't look like it would. Yesterday, January 31st at about 1 pm, IT DID HAPPEN! Thank you, God and Jesus! I am teary…

New exercise program, now sleeping too long
Last week I started New Rules for Women lifting program and I am only on work out number five, Stage 1. The workouts are going well, I have upped my calories, my protein is good. I feel good. My problem is that I am now sleeping 10+ hours per night. I went to bed early last night to adjust to my new sleep pattern and I…

Fatigue question
I have just completed my first week of Stage one. I was feeling tired yesterday even after sleeping for ten hours so I increased my calories by about 200. By yesterday afternoon I was feeling better. Now this morning (after sleeping for my normal eight hours and feeling good) I ate about three hundred calories and then did…

Yay! I just did my first pushup!
Form was bad, but I lifted from the absolute ground. It sucks to be so weak.

I am traveling for Christmas so I am not putting up any decorations. How about sharing yours? Would love to see everyone's Christmas cheer!

I've lost a recipe. Bacon, soy sauce, onion? stir fry sauce
Last summer during zuchini and yellow sqash season, I stumbled on a low cal stir fry recipe that used the grease from 3 slices bacon, soy sauce and I think onion as the sweetener. I was making it so often that I couldn't imagine that I would forget the ratio, let alone an ingredient, lol. I remember that it was a very…

The social aspect of maintaning on MFP
I have been a member of MFP for just a few days more of a year. I stopped logging when I reached maintenance and a few friends unfriended me. That's fine, I wasn't active. Now I have a bunch (2/3) of my pals not logging and haven't logged in months. I have emailed a few of my favorites and some have become active again…

I have no motivation to stop smokimg.

Real life comments about weight loss
So I went to a local tavern tonight that I don't frequent any more. I used to be a regular and considered the people my "friends". As soon as I walked in the door I was informed that they had been talking disparagingly about me. I sort of ignored that remark and thought the person who told me that was drunk idiot. Not…

How far would you go to exercise?
This morning on my local news was a story about a 31 year old male who was arrested for trying to gain access to a gym at gun point. I guess now he can use the gym at the prison, lol.

Keep working the abs, it helps the back
The months of ab work are paying off. Now when I lift something heavy like a wet hanging plant, my abs are engaged rather than my back. It's a very healthy feeling. Be sure to work the abs for more than a flat tummy. Save your back!

Homemade ice cream
I have never made ice cream except for the plastic bag trick with the kids. I plan to make a trial version this weekend, with the goal of making ice cream for a 4th of July event. I have a basic custard type recipe that uses one egg yolk per serving. I have been thinking of ways to make the recipe lower calorie and…

Inspiring other people by setting an example
I have found that I love inspiring people. Something I didn't know about myself until joining MFP. I love posting positive feedback, it sets my day. Now that I have lost my weight, I have found that real life people are also inspired. My daughter is just one size larger now, she was bigger (I think) than me at one point.…

Too much water and not enough sodium
After months of watching my sodium intake (tried to keep it below 1500 mg.), I saw my doctor yesterday and my blood sodium level is too low. Not terrible, but a normal range is 135-145 mg., I am at 133. The doctor wants me to increase my sodium intake and then recheck in 6 months. I see thread after thread of people trying…
