I've lost a recipe. Bacon, soy sauce, onion? stir fry sauce

Last summer during zuchini and yellow sqash season, I stumbled on a low cal stir fry recipe that used the grease from 3 slices bacon, soy sauce and I think onion as the sweetener. I was making it so often that I couldn't imagine that I would forget the ratio, let alone an ingredient, lol. I remember that it was a very delicious low cal stir fry that I wanted to try it with beef and brocolli. Anyone have it?

Ha! I finally found the recipe.

2 slices thick cut or 3 slices thin cut bacon
    1/2 cup diced onion
1 tsp. soy sauce or to taste (I use Kikkoman)

Fry the bacon in a non-stick pan until crisp. Remove the bacon and set aside. Add 1/2 cup diced onion to the bacon fat, fry until tender. Add the teaspoon of soy sauce The onion adds the sweetness so if you want it sweeter, add more onion. You can play with this base by adding red pepper flakes, granulated garlic powder, grated fresh ginger, pineapple chunks, etc. The original recipe added one chopped jalapeno. You will have to use your own judgment as to meat and veggie choices and amounts. When I make it for hubby and myself, it comes out to about six servings which makes the stir fry sauce by itself come out to 21 calories per serving, (including the entire bacon slices, so if you don't add them back in, a little less) but your mileage may vary. It gets even better after a couple of days in the fridge.

Oh, and hi to one year ago me! :flowerforyou: :drinker:

I am going to try this as well. I am guilty of putting too much oil in my stir fry dishes.
