My Secret to Weight Loss
As you may know and as someone has mentioned, I am "vanishing this week." Yes, it is true. Today was a 1.2 pound loss. Yesterday was 0.8 pound loss and the day before that was a 0.4 loss. And I just want MFP friends to know that there is a little secret to my success. Serious. Some like to call my vanishing trick "magic"…

How I lost 3 pounds in one day!!!
I don't recommend it based solely on the cost but it really worked for me!!! I didn't even exercise, I ate cake and even had apple cobbler that day too!!! (And it was delicious,) Here is what you have to do... be the Mother--of-the-Bride for your daughters do-it-yourself wedding reception. You can hire some things out but…

Completely Confused by 2 POUND gain, HELP!
I have been on MFP for 9 months and have lost 50 pounds but am still in the overweight category. I woke up today with a 2 pound GAIN in one day. How is this possible? I have been logging everything, exercising hard (5 days a week) and am UNDER calories for a 1.5 loss per week goal. The high sodium yesterday is not quite…

173lbs running 60 mins mod to hard and only 400 cal burned,
IDK if my HRM is not working or if I am in really good shape now or if weighing less makes a huge difference but it seems I am burning WAY less calories than I use to. It seems I should be burning more. It was about 45 mins of hard running of 6.5-7.5 mph (8-9 min miles) with little breaks. Does that seem right? The 400…

Running a Relay Race
Anyone ever run a Ragnar (if so, where) or some kind of 2-day relay race? If so, tell me about it? What was your hardest leg? What was the incline? How many miles? Did you get blisters? Was it FUN?!

Anyone run in a relay race before hitting goal weight
I am wondering if anyone has run in a relay race before hitting goal weight. One week from today I will be running in the Grand Tetons Relay Race starting from Ashton, Idaho to Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Yes, that is 185.5 miles of running in the high-altitude wilderness. I am really nervous to still be 25 lbs from goal…

Dilemma: Don't want to cook or eat out!
I can't decide where to go because every time I think of something I want to eat that sounds great, a big billboard in my mind says "Calories, Sodium, you could make it way better at home!" It is true, nothing beats home cooking for getting more bang for you calories but I don't feel like cooking tonight! Aghhhh!

My Butt Hurts
I worked extra hard in my strength training class on the butt muscle exercises, harder than usual, and now my butt hurts, BAD! I am in my first ever 5k race on Sat. I've had a massage, been in a jacuzzi, stretched a ton, and have even been rubbing my butt once in a while. What will help it heal the quickest?

Women ONLY!!! Have you had a breast reduction?
I am thinking about getting a breast reduction. What size were you and what size are you now? Would you go smaller or larger if you could do it over? What health benefits come with it (no headaches, back problems)? How much did they remove on each one? I don't know what other questions to ask but thought I'd put this out…

Free as a Bird
It's the first warm-ish day in a long time so I go outside to pull some weeds and water some plants in our backyard. It is a peaceful activity until I hear a few terrified screeches from a little bird that my cat, Misha, caught. I can see it's wings sticking out as it tries in vain to get away and then it folds them in and…

92 I have logged in for 92 days! My original goal is getting to 100 days. Now I am considering doing it until goal weight which is about another 4-6 months. What is YOUR number of days? Anyone know the record? Since I am the first to post, I guess I have the current record in finding out who has the highest right now.

Why didn't anyone warn me!!!
When I joined MFP all I was interested in was counting calories and glasses of water to help me lose weight- a LOT of weight. Never counting calories before, it's been like a strategic game for me hitting my caloric goals. And I've been doing great. Then, a MFP friend who has HBP, so she watches her sodium, mentioned to me…

New BMI Catagory!!! Serious NSV!!!
I am officially "over-weight" today! Woot, woot, woot. How does it feel? It feels like a ton of weight is off my shoulders... and belly and butt and legs and even my FACE! Love it. Now I will not DREAD the doctor office. Now I feel like a normal, overweight American. I know it's just a category or just a number, but it's a…

I use to do WHAT?!
So, I tell my husband that though I am glad and proud and am in no way slacking off of my weight-loss efforts, truth be known, it is hard to think about not being even half way to GW yet. He listens and says a few words and then goes down stairs. A minute later he is back upstairs with a back pack of 25 pounds of weight in…

Heart Health
I gave blood yesterday and was told my heart skipped a beat 3 times in 60 seconds. She said it could be heredity or stress or something else. Is it something I should be worried about?

Hey all you skinny-mini's out there who cook!
Hi. I have been thin most of my life, except for the past 5-7 years. I am in the process of making lifestyle changes to get my life back. I am learning to cook more and eat out less. I am eating more good fats and eating less of the bad ones. More wheat flour items, less white. More herbs, less sodium. Things like that. I…

Church Dilemma.... HELP!
I am active in my church. I sometimes meet with the Ladies and am also involved with the children and youth groups; even planning meetings sometimes have a treat or something. NET Calories and Exercise = Lots of food
Does anyone else on here struggle with having to eat enough calories on days you exercise? Even mentally, it is so hard for me because I worry, "What if my actual calorie burn is lower than it says?" or "What if I go out to dinner and will need those extra calories at night?" Sometimes my net is 500-800. Not always but…

NEW Recipes
Part of my health plan of developing a healthy-lifestyle includes learning to cook and finding recipes my family loves. Here are my favorites I have tried since January. I am not a big cook but these were easy enough. Just google them or buy the cookbooks which are very helpful as it has all the nutrition information.…

50 Days!
Today I hit 50 days on MFP and my goal is to hit 100 days straight of logging my food diary every day. Anyone is welcome to join me. We can do anything for about 3 months, right? It is just 3 months. The best thing about 50 days is that it marks a time to compare now with then. 50 days ago I was fat and felt miserable and…

Focus on Health not the Scale
I just looked and my calories burned since I started MFP the beginning of January. I can see how I have steadily increased my exercise in number of days a week (started doing 5 days week last week) and amount of calories burned (because I am doing more.) I felt a sense of accomplishment. I use to burn 500-550 calories…
