Focus on Health not the Scale

I just looked and my calories burned since I started MFP the beginning of January. I can see how I have steadily increased my exercise in number of days a week (started doing 5 days week last week) and amount of calories burned (because I am doing more.) I felt a sense of accomplishment. I use to burn 500-550 calories working hard and now I burn 700 working hard even though I weigh less--because I am strong enough to be busting my butt off! I feel good about being stronger and healthier instead of looking at the scale which is in a stuck mode right now. I'm thinking, so what! I feel great! I am stronger and doing more. Weight loss will come. Just keep doing what makes you feel good and healthy.

I thought this same thing when I weighed myself this morning. Even though I haven't lost any weight, I feel so much better, stronger, happier and healthier than I think I've ever felt. To me that's more important than pounds right now.
  • Thanks so much for posting this! I agree. I haven't seen the numbers fall on the scale in the last month like I have hoped but I feel healthier, stronger, more powerful and I know that I'm working really hard and it will all pay off! Thanks for the reminder.

Im in this same boat, My scale doesn't move at allllllllllllll!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Which I have adjusted my thinking and now I am fine with! Instead I look at the way my clothes fit, and what my measuring tape says!

I am sooo happy to see people who aren't addicted to the scale who have the ability to measure their success other ways other than by the pounds lost, because there are sooooo many other factors!

Congrats! I bet you are feeling amazing!
