Strange Motivations?
What is your strangest source of motivation? Mine is the Hulk. Not that I want to be green or have gamma ray poisoning. But the thought of unlimited strength and the rawness of his power motivates me. I'm not into comics, but the movies really bring him to life for me.

Nori Snack
I found seasoned pre-cut nori (seaweed) strips at my local Asia market. Each little packet contains 3 strips and 5 packets = 20 calories. That seem to fill me enough to not snack.

100 miles Friday
A few friends of mine are doing an all day bike ride of 100 miles. I'm both excited and nervous cause my previous longest distance was 64 miles. Should be fine weather for a ride. We start out around Joe Pool Lake and head south to Maypearl and Italy. Stopping for lunch in Waxahachie and back to JPL. I think it will be…

My Accumulated Cycling Knowledge
I’ve gotten into road bikes in the last year and last week purchased a mountain bike. I also try to hit the spin classes when I can. Seeing a lot of questions repeated I thought I would make a summary of knowledge gained through my experiences. 1. Spin Classes A. These classes are not meant to be intimidating but intense…

What I've been up to.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1gAu9zvdbmA When you find something you really enjoy you stop thinking about calories burned and just take it all in. Today is the first time I've weighed myself in a month. Only 3 lbs. down. But I'm sure muscle is being added daily.

Road Bike Advice??
I'm thinking of upgrading from my 10 yo chromoly mountain bile to a road bike. Probably and aluminum frame with carbon fork. But what crank should I aim for? There are hills in my area that I want to be able to ride without bonking. I've heard a triple crank is the way to go. And people at bike store seem to push the…

My New Arms!
Yesterday I had to do a double take before I jumped into the shower. Friday I didn't notice anything. But Saturday revealed my new well defined arms. I'm not sure what happened lol. One day they just appeared. It may be the bike riding I've been doing lately cause the weather is so nice.

What to do...aggression?
I'm in a school club and we've hit a point where the officers are just blaming one another for things but not actually doing anything to help the situation. I want to punch someone in the face. Any ideas how to deal with my aggression without going to jail?

Salmon Jerky?
Anyone ever eat Salmon Jerky? Is it any good? I saw it in a book and had to do a double take.

Confussed about Basal??
I've been messing around with MFP's tools and discovered at my current 194 weight I burn 1872 calories doing nothing. My daily caloric goal is 1780, a deficit of 92 calories a day. So in a week that's 644 calories in the red from my basal. I've set the goal loss at 1.5 lbs per week. So shouldn't it be at a higher deficit?

Pushing Myself
I've been walking/running for the last two months. I worked up to walking 10 minutes and running 15 @ 5.8mph. Today I had a big lunch when I got home and really felt good and fueled up. So I did my 10 min warm up walk and went to 5.8 for 5, then 6.2 for 5, 6.6 for 5, and finally 7.0 for 5 minutes. I'm not sure if I had…

Lowering Heart Rate
Anyone have any tips on lowering your heart rate while exercising. I know overall cardio fitness helps, as well as just having those genes, but any specific exercises or intensities? I was just reading 50/50 by Dean Karnazes and it said he runs 4 fours without going over 110 bpm.

Vivid Dreams
I've notice I'm having much more vivid, randy, dreams now. I'm thinking maybe going to the gym has upped my testosterone?? I'm not complaining. Just curious if it's just me.

World Buffets?
I was wondering if there are buffets all over the world, or just in America. I don't count hotels buffets though.

If this guy can do it so can I.
By that I mean physically active. I'm not ready to paddle across the entire ocean. But just look at that amazing arm definition. http://www.grindtv.com/outdoor/blog/24051/kayaker+64+completes+marathon+paddle+across+atlantic/

Pedometer Convertion
Is there a pedometer conversion to figure out calories burned, or maybe rough distance?

Use of mental imagery
I picture myself as raw metal. Then when I'm at the gym and I feel the heat from my muscles it's like I'm being forged into something strong and shiny, like a sword. Does anyone else use any mind tricks like this?

May do something really stupid...
In a little over 3 weeks is The Cowtown Marathon. I'm in good enough shape to run the 5k, maybe even the 10k. But half marathon and up get these cool medals that form the star of Texas when you have 5. I may just be a little stir crazy cause of the ice today, cause it is a crazy idea.

Making Tapioca?
A few days ago I was in the Asian market and garbed a bag of tapioca pearls on impulse to try it out. But there are no instructions on the bag, at least that I can read. The pearls are about small pea sized.

Should there be a law?
Should there be a law that restricts fitness models to advertise only products they actually use? You always see cut people that say " In only 6 minutes a day". Never mind the small print at the bottom that says with a strict diet.

How bad is sushi for you?
In a bit I'm going with the family to a great buffet that has sushi. I'm pretty big into sushi and know I'll be hitting it a few times. There are plenty of other things there as well. They have great Teriyaki Chicken. I'm sure everything there is great lol. I'm thinking I'll try to keep track of how many pieces I eat and…

Hi. My name is Nova.
I'm happy that there is a community of people here to support one another in their goals. I think I'll need that support at times to stay on track. I've got a goal of losing 25 lbs. in a healthy maintainable way. Keeping it off may be a bigger challenge than losing it. But I'm here to give it my all and make some friends…
