syncing band issues
Is anyone else having issues with their band? Mine refuses to sync to the app...I got that fixed (had to unpair it) after doing repeated soft reboots...now it isn't adding in my steps to the app at all. It has my sleep and my food from MFP...but no steps... I have a "spare" band and added that and purposefully walked…

Reasons to breath correctly while lifting
Was watching an episode of "The Science of Stupid" and they did a segment on breathing properly while lifting... So here is a video (I will note the times) of some of the clips they used to demonstrate why it's important to breath while lifting. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6VqbWAG3qmk 0:33 1:27 1:35 1:47 2:05 The rest…

Using TDEE but....
As a lot of us do or have done we use TDEE method. I have calculated mine at 2100...(same as IIFYM) and I am working my way up. This is based on 5 days a week of exercise...3x lifting, 2x some form of cardio, biking, walking, HIIT etc...I will be adding in swimming soon and hopefully HIIT sprints. But I am wondering about…

OHP form Rippetoe vs Mehdi
I follow Stronglifts 5x5 and have watched his videos numerous times for form. On his OHP he is stiff as a board...there is no movement, he appears to strictly push the bar up. Which is what I have been doing. Tightening up glutes, legs, back (core) and pushing the bar up... then I see this video from rippetoe…

Benefits from a deload
So after 6 (almost 7) months of lifting I have had to deload my share of times. Either due to form issues, failure, injury or vacation and each time I have found there to be benefits that far outweight the kick in the pants I may have felt (and I did due to my first deload from failure) So in order to encourage and…

TDEE increase?
So back in September I calculated my TDEE based on the following numbers 29,642 calories consumed 3 1/2lbs lost over 21 days... this is the first 3 weeks I had my food scale so I was being super duper accurate. I was doing 30 day shred non modified 5x a week with 8-10lb weights... It worked out to 1995...I worked out -20%…

It lied
I am very sad about this and not sure what to do .... I got a new standard bar for my birthday that was "suppose" to weight 20lbs...it doesn't... I found it weird I pounded out all my rows on it so easy after struggling so hard for weeks on them so I weighed it... 16-17lbs    I am half tempted to just count…

Rest times between sets
I know the standard for the rest times is 5mins or less. I have steadily increased my rest times to the point where I am now at 3 1/2mins for all my lifts except squats...I upped that to 3:45 today... Just wondering ladies about your rest period and are mine too long. Ref Squat @ 175 Bench @ 118.5 OHP @ 90 Rows @ 118.5 DL…

My NSV of the Month aka why pics are important
Well to me this is one of the biggest NSV's to day and shows why Pics are important on this journey....I was getting disheartened by what I thought was very little progress in my butt because I was looking at a real life side view and I didn't see much change. My weight isn't going down "fast" and my measurments are pretty…

Calorie to Protien ratio
I am just curious if there is a good ratio that can be applied quickly when looking at lables on food items. I try very hard to stay in my goals (calories/fat/protien) but find that it can be difficult somedays as I go over calories a bit to get my protien in. So my question is when I am looking at food lables what is a…

40lbs later....
So I normally stay away from a camera...it always showed me what "I really looked like" and I preferred not to know. You know the whole denial thing we all do. So Last night was a Christmas party for work and I had bought a dress this fall and decided to wear that one. I actually "allowed" pics to be taken as it was a…
