How did everyone manage when 6 month meds end?
I was taking Omiprizone for the first 6 months. Finished prescription 2 weeks before Christmas and my stomach hurts every time I take 2 bites. Down 5 lbs over the holidays. Anyone else need to go back on these meds? I have my 6 month post op appt coming up on Tuesday. Hope they'll have a good recommendation..

Success!!
I had my 3 month post-op appt today. I have lost 81% of my excess weight! Exactly 100 lbs down since my first appt with the bariatric center in January. 115 total since Dec. on my home scales. For those of you just starting this journey I hope this excites you about the possibilities! I had been at an unhealthy weight for…

Puree Stage is not a picnic
2 weeks out from RYN and I started the puree stage yesterday. Or rather I was 'supposed' to start it yesterday, but after just 1 oz of fluffy scrambled eggs my stomach was twisted all day. I had a hard time getting in 60g protein so I ended my day with a nap on the couch. Tried again today and I'm feeling a bit better but…

UTI / Kidney Stones after surgery
I've been dealing with a mild UTI for over a week and today I felt worse so I had it checked. I have an infection and they tell me they think I have kidney stones. So upset about this since I'd been feeling so great. Now I need to see a urologist. Ggggrrrrrr. Anyone else deal with this after surgery? I drink water all day…

Surgery 6-15-15
I'm trying not to think about it too much, but I have to say that thanks to everyone here I feel pretty calm about my surgery on Monday. Knowledge is power and I feel ready for the changes that are coming my way. That's not to say there won't be tough days ahead, but I know how quickly the first few weeks will fly by. I'll…

How long were you out of work?
My surgery should be scheduled for June or July. I don't plan on telling anyone at work and was hoping to be out only a week or two at best. Of course I will do what my body allows, but I'm wondering how long all of you were out of work. I have an office job so physically I can sit at my desk as easily as I can sit at…

Pre-surgery Lightheaded Question
I am pre-surgery and have been working protein shakes into my daily diet. Last week I replaced both breakfast and lunch with a shake to see how I might feel. I was still taking in around 1200 calories. After 5 days I began to feel really light headed which is making me nervous about post-surgery weeks. I've added B-12 and…

Ready to be outside
Who else is ready to get outside for some exercise? It's been such a cold winter for us that we haven't spent nearly as much time in the fresh air as we usually do in the winter. We have done some snoe shoeing and walking but with the temps in the single digits (or below zero) it's tough being out there for long. I'm…

Endoscopy/Colonoscopy advice?
Today is prep day for my Endoscopy/Colonoscopy. I ate a piece of pizza at 9pm last night because I figured if there was ever a time to cheat last night was it! :) Any advice for tomorrow (and the days follow)? I really want to use this opportunity to improve my diet even more. After this I only have a sleep study to…

DAILY CHECK IN > 100 WAYS TO LOSE IT
WEDNESDAY So far it's been a successful day. Keeping calories low, but looking for more protein - I find myself feeling hungry more often. Guess I'll cook up some chicken / turkey cutlets this weekend so they'll be easy to pack for lunch next week. Also thinking about starting my day with a protein shake tomorrow. The…

Cracked heals anyone? Ideas??
It's that time of year again and I love my sandals - however - after just a couple of weeks without lotion & socks my heals are a mess again. They split and crack. It takes the first 5 minutes of my morning jog to get past the pain. I've been using the 'HEAL OF APPROVAL' and 'SHEA it isn't so'. Some nights they are too…

Any other New Englanders looking to LOSE it?
I am part of some really great MFP threads, but rarely run across others from the Northeast. There must be tons of vitamin D deficient MAINA'S or NEW HAMPSHIRE NATIVES out there looking for some downhome support after this LONG WINTER? The sun is shining at the moment so if I don't get back to you right away it means I'm…

Share a Favorite NEW Food you discovered since joining MFP
I've only been at this a week, but I've already realized there are different ways to enjoy some of my old favorites. Today I used Humus on celery instead of cream cheese and added a couple of chopped olives on top for a great snack. I'd love to hear about your favorite new food!

Hello new friends
Feeling better after just a couple of days of tracking what I eat. I'm actually looking forward to my 30 minutes of solitude on the treadmill. I hope to find support through blogging. This all new to me, but it feels good taking time for myself.

New to Blogging - Hope it's a life line!
 Once I had children I resigned to being overweight and gave up. Adding 20 lbs a year has caught up to me and I don't want to continue this pattern. I have never blogged before. I found MyfitnessPal as a driod cell app and found it very easy to begin using. I love my family and enjoy doing everything I can to make…
