STATurday #1
I know it's mostly water weight and bloat, but I am proud to say I started my STATurday off with seeing a 7.2lb loss since my "before" weight on Monday morning!

Welcome!
I'd love for everyone to introduce themselves here. I'll go first. I'm Megan-- I just turned 29, and I live in Ohio. I lost about 140lbs and hit my goal weight exactly 1 year ago. Over the last year, I've hovered at about goal (within 10 lbs or so), but in the last couple months, I have totally let it all go. I haven't…

Haven't started yet
Right now I'm training for a half marathon, so most of my limited workout time is spent running, but as soon as it's over, I want to concentrate on body composition. I have heard some great things about Crossfit, so I think that's what I'm going to start. Any advice as I look for a Box and get started? Thanks!

Failed to hit a "Goal Weight"
Yes, you read that right-- This Success Story is about a "failure" I hit my original goal of losing 130 lbs. Actually I hit my original goal, then I hit my new goal of losing 135 lbs. Actually I hit my original goal, then I hit my new goal, then I hit my New new goal of losing 140 lbs. And then I stalled. I regained some;…

Starting tomorrow!
For those of you a couple weeks in, any advice?

I HIT GOAL!!! I've lost 140 lbs! *PICS*
In February of 2010, I weighed over 300 lbs (at 5'10") and realized I was shaving years off of my life when I was only 25. I decided to change that and set a very lofty goal of losing 130 lbs to get to the border of the Healthy and Overweight categories of BMI (later changed it to losing 140 lbs so I would firmly be in the…

From "Morbidly Obese" to "Healthy" BMI -- PICS!
When I started this journey, I was over 300 lbs (305, to be exact) on a 5'10" frame-- this put me at a BMI of 43.8 and in the "Morbidly Obese" category. ***Let me say, I realize that BMI is not everything, that it is not necessarily the best measurement for a tall person, and that it does not account for muscle mass.…

Gained weight so far
I know it is only .2 lbs and is probably water weight, but it is frustrating to have worked hard this week and have gained instead of lost! Anyone else in this boat?

Before pictures
I can't believe I'm posting these, but if anyone else wants to join me-- here's the thread for you! :-) PS I was purposely not sucking it in or looking happy-- that's for the after photos! ;-P

2 years progress pics in my Steelers gear!
The pic on the left is from before going to a game in December 2009-- I was about 305 lbs before starting my weight-loss journey in Feb 2010. The pic on the right is from December 2011-- I am about 197 lbs and about 30 lbs away from my goal weight! PS check out my whole story and more pics at…

Head catching up with body
I just had a weird moment-- I was on my MFP homepage and I saw "108 lbs lost" and really thought about that. I have a very hard time realizing that I've lost ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHT pounds and that I look completely different. If I see that anyone else has lost that much, I feel so proud of them. But I can't wrap my head…

The Value of a Smile at Christmas
It costs nothing, but creates much. It enriches those who receive, without impoverishing those who give. It happens in a flash and the memory of it sometimes lasts forever. None are so rich they can get along without it, and none are so poor but are richer for its benefits. It creates happiness in the home, fosters good…

A few "compliments" I've gotten recently...
I guess these count as NSVs? 1) This weekend I was "warned" by a close friend that I shouldn't lose too much more weight because I'm tall and "tall girls should have curves." 2) Someone said I look like I'm going to break in half if I lose any more weight. (My response: "um ...thank you?") 3) I was telling a friend of mine…

70 lbs down! With Pics!
My story: I'm 5'10" and I tipped the scales at 305 lbs in Feb 2010 when I decided to give up fast food and pop for Lent. I quickly decided to take it further and wanted to get healthy because around that time my grandfather passed away (not from being unhealthy, but it was a wake up call for me that I was shaving years off…

I CRUSHED IT!
I ran in my first 5K race this morning. I had been running it in about 41 or 42 minutes during my training runs, so I was hoping that for race day I'd come in under 40 (but secretly thinking I probably wouldn't). I came in at 35:40!!! I could not believe how hard I crushed my expectations! I just had to share!…

My first 5K coming up
I have my first 5K race this Monday for Labor Day. I was wondering if anyone has some advice for me-- work outs leading up to the race, what to eat, anything special to do right before or after? Basically any tips about anything! Thanks for helping out a newbie! :-)

I just realized...
that I have lost 25% of my original body weight! I am officially 3/4 of the size I was when I started! That's pretty crazy-- in a good way :-)

NSVs and HUGE SV!
I am starting fall semester on Monday so I've been around school making sure everything is ready, and I have run into some people that haven't seen me in several months. First a professor came up to me about 20 minutes after I first saw her in the hallway and said, "I had to look at you 5 or 6 times before I realized who…

Novice Runner
I am the girl who couldn't even run for one lap on "Mile Day" in high school. I NEVER would have thought I'd EVER like running. I did the C25K program (graduated 7-23-11) and now am up to running for 3.5 miles straight... and yet, when someone refers to me as a "runner" I do a double take and say something that undermines…

2 NSVs!
I was at my parents' house last weekend and looked in the attic for a box of pictures when I came across a bin labeled "Megan's Thin Clothes" so I decided to take it and see what all was in there. I did realize that the sizing and style has changed since I packed them away 10 years ago. I'm in 18's and some 16's of new…
