VEGAS danger
Well my vacation to Vegas and Chicago starts on June 6th. I'm taking my exercise gear so I can sneak in cardio or yoga, BUT, I'm wondering what tips does everyone have for not overeating/overdrinking? Its kind of hard to get up at 6 am if I will be partying until 3 am for some exercise:drinker: I don't want to just forget…

why is potassium so ignored?
i am tracking my potassium intake because its vital to muscle health, especially those who are exercising. BUT, no one ever lists potassium content! I know its a little extra work, but my goodness, the nutritional value would be complete if everyone just put in the info. help!:noway:

post-running fueling and hunger control
Lately, on days that i run, it seems as if my hunger is out of control. I load up on protein afterwards, but that craving for something fatty sets in. i drink water and tea to curb that and eat lots of fresh fruit, but its as if my metaboism is out of control! what does everyone use for post-run protein?

walking to work-not real exercise
i live a mile from work and walk everyday, which takes me about 18 min at 3.0 or so, and its very hilly. i usually carry lots of stuff-gym bag, purse, lunch food, etc. my exercise routine is usually running at least 3 miles, elliptical for at lesaet 30 min, or yoga. so i don't consider this walking as actual exercise…

food to deal with dissapointment
i am still at a point where i use food to deal w/any type of major dissapointment. i just got refected on a phone interview for a job i really wanted. so i had 2 pieces of bread instead of one. granted it was organic honey whole wheat at all, but am too full still. i didn't want to sit and sob in the office, and leaving…

sugar question (natural fructose)
I set my daily sugar goal to 30 g, but its very unrealistic since i go over and get about 70-90 per day. I consume at least 2 if not 3 servings of fruit daily. Its usually fresh and organic, or dried. Now fructose in fruit is processed very different in your body than high-fructose corn syrup and glucose in junk foods.…

traveling to brazil-food recommendations
i am taking off for brazil for 17 days. rio, recife and manaus are my three city destinations. has anyone traveled there or a native that can give me advise on what foods to stay away from? i don't want to gain 10 lbs on the trip. i know they're big carnivours and i'm not a huge meat-lover. thanks !

when are you really a runner?
i joined this to loose that annoying 12 lbs that prevent me from looking fabulous. ive been a runner for some years, but not a distance runner, but good 5-6 mi. however i don't run every day, maybe 3-4 times a week. im curious what others think a true runner is? i've never done a marathon and most likely never will since…

late night scenario aka bad food habit
i'm sure we all had our bad days, but mine was especially horrible and i need to share this so i don't keep it inside and go insane. of course i feel guilt and shame right now, but what i'm really trying to understand is how much i can attribute to metabolism imbalance/hormonal fluctuation, recovery from sickness or just…

hypothyrodism weight-loss seekers?
i think i rely on the scale too much. it's advised that we weight ourselves once a week, at exactly the same time, naked, on an empty stomach to rule out hormonal fluctuations, water weight and etc. i lost 2 lbs since last week (just joined last week) but now they are sort of creeping up. i weight myself daily and it's…

caloric loss confussion
i'm still a bit confused how everyone calculates their caloric loss after exercise. my question is the system subtracts just the calories lost, but how to do u modify the nutrients and carbs and such? for example, if i ate 25 g of fiber today and then worked out and lost 300 calories and it was deducted from the daily…

so little sugar!
how is it realistic to eat only 24 g of sugar daily? i am a big fruit eater and though they are natural sugars aka glucose and fructose and not high fructose corn syrup, it still adds up!!! now i know the biochem behind this, but i can't link it to the nutritional aspect. any experts out there??

new member-already impressed!
this is yet another attempt to track all my food in hopes of dropping 17lbs. i've tried others but they are either too complex and not easy to navigate or not informative enough. this one looks promising! looking to chat with those in my category-i'm looking for a rather small weight loss since i'm in fairly decent shape…
