I'm asking out of curiosity here, not to make fun...

Is the powder supposed to help you get bigger muscles or lose weight?

PWO is meant to give you a bit of an energy boost before your workout.

    Some contain creatine monohydrate/nitrate

I've never taken a pre-workout. Is it just for lifting? Or do you take it for workouts including cardio?

Some of the less powerful ones are good for cardio, but the more powerful ones can actually make your heart beat faster so they're not advised for cardio.

I think quite a few people use C4 for cardio, but only 1 scoop.

    1st, you DO NOT need a pre-workout.

If your diet & nutrition is on point somewhat, that should be more than sufficient to fuel your workout.

Having said that, I believe a lot of the ... *kitten* .... you buy at GNC is trash, it's loaded with fillers, C4 for example, is loaded with garbage.

    Personally, I use: http://www.citadelnutrition.com/store/supplements/tier-1-plus

No jitteryness, all science based and proven ingredients with true backing references on their website.

Pro labs 200mg caffein pill. All I ever need and save a lot of cash. I tried plenty of preworkouts, and they are mostly all just filled with cheap ingredients at clinically ineffective dosages, make crazy marketing claims, cost $5.00 to manufacture and charge you $30.00-60.00...

c4 if defineatly a personal favorite. so is Mr. Hyde or Dr. Jekyll.

hyde is more of the hott tingles like C4, and jekyll does't have the tingles but give you a really goo energy boost.

If you decide on C4, you may want to start out with half of what it tells you on the label. I must be very sensitive to this product because my heart was racing and I hadn't even started working out yet. Just test it out slowly.

C4 is quite a weak PWO, you must have a low caffeine tolerance ;p
