i know I can't rush weight loss, but I'm a person who needs to pick out changes in my body (even if very small) to stay motivated enough to continue with weightloss this time around. I am a university student who wants to lose around 30 pounds before this summer. Thanks

No tricks, just track what you eat, weigh and measure everything you put into your body, and make sure you are consuming fewer calories than you are burning, CICO.
Tips for a busy uni student (hey, I'm in the same boat): I like to do meal prep sundays, where I prep most of my meals for the week, weigh and measure them out and cook them since I can get pretty busy during the weekdays. Also, make grocery lists and stick to them, I personally, am not good at portion controlling my junk food, if I get a big bag of chips, it will be gone within a matter of a few days, therefore I only buy the smaller bags when I've worked them into my daily calorie allowance, or I'll only buy a chocolate bar as a treat once a week so long as it fits.0 -
eat less. move more.

There's your motivation right there. Now you just need to commit.
Eat less.
Move more.

All it comes down to is eating less (and moving more if you want to). Make sure you use a food scale to correctly log all of your food. Remember that liquids (juices, alcohol, etc.) can have calories and use a measuring cup for those. However, if you are feeling hungry, there are some things you can do.
- Drink more water
- Drink 0 calorie drinks (diet soda) if you like them
- Eat low calorie, high volume foods (vegetables, some soups)
- Get your mind off of food (Exercise, homework, work, classes, hanging out with friends, etc.)
- Figure out if changing WHEN you eat helps. Some people like eating 5-6 times per day. Some people like intermittent fasting. Others like the 'traditional' breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
