I am new to myfitnesspal and my goal is to get in shape. Anyone with advice feel free to chime in!!

"get in shape" generally suggests to me that you want to lose weight/fat.... Which usually requires a calorie deficit, and comes with minimal muscle gain except in a few circumstances.
Are you already lean, but want to increase muscle size? Or is your goal to lose fat?0
