Still so freakin' confused.
I've posted a few topics relating, and I've done some searching in the forums, but I must be slow because I'm still confused/nervous! My entire weight loss journey over the past year I have had my MFP settings set at sedentary, and ate back exercise calories. Now that I am at a lower weight ( I am 5'2, F, 21yrs old, &…

I just want other people's opinions.
I am eighteen years old, 5'6" and my weight fluctuates from 115-120. I want to maintain this weight. I am not a perfect "clean eater." I eat processed foods, treats, sugary stuff. I have never gone over my allotted calories though, and if I do, I burn it off. I put myself at 1650. I do not count my macros because I don't…

Bad! Bad MFP user!
So I've been doing really well getting enough exercise and staying within my calorie range and then.... Yesterday happened. It's like I cracked - I ordered a small pizza with pepperoni and sausage - you know the kind. Drippy... chewy... shiny? Anyway - I ate it like it was my job. Today I'm feeling what you can probably…

What's your one tip for maintainig?
I am almost half way to my goal (although I may opt to lose another 5 lbs when I get there, depending on how I feel), but I find myself worrying about gaining it back afterwards. I'm doing this the right way, as a lifestyle change, but I honestly don't want to have to log calories for the rest of my life. Do you still log…

How did you change from MFP way to TDEE method?
I need to switch to maintenance, but I'm finding it awfully hard with my MFP settings set to "sedentary" to run myself ragged and burn myself out trying to exercise like crazy to eat more day-to-day. SO, I decided I want to swap my way of doing things from adding calories back, to having them accounted for - so the TDEE…

Craving Fried Food
I'm sure I'm not alone on this one, but am curious how many people get that overwhelming desire to eat fried foods? If so, what do you do to kill the urge? I usually get the urge when passing by a store that is frying chicken, or when walking through the deli of the local supermarket. I try to find an alternative food…

Antidepressants and weight gain
Since I have started antidepressants 5 days ago I have started enjoying food a lot more and using it as a 'pick me up'. It may seem like the answer to this situation would be to just not overeat but it has become a lot more enjoyable yet also impulsive and mindless. Has anyone else who has gone on antidepressants…

Knowing I'm eating the right amount, new to lifting.
Afternoon team, Just want to give you a quick overview of my story before I get to my question: - I lost a total of 25 pounds between Aug 13 and Jan 14 going from 143 to 117 (5’2) - I lost weight by exercise and eating at a moderate-high deficit (1-3 hours of cardio 7days per week and consuming 1200-1500 calories not…

Any other girls on a 2000 calorie goal?
Hey guys, I am 21 years old and at the moment I am trying to reduce body fat but increase my muscle mass. I go to the gym everyday doing strength training and cardio most days too. I'm not sure if 2000 calories is a bit too much if I am trying to reduce fat, I am 19% body fat at the moment which I am pretty happy with but…

Hitting protein in maintainence with strength
Hi guys, So i'm female, around 112lbs, i've worked out my minimum protein requirements to be around 86gram to maintain the lbm i have now, but having upped my strength training workouts I really want to get over the minimum now and get more in,I usually hit around 92 from natural food sources but no higher. I'm just…

Accountability buddies? (F/24)
i'm about two-three pounds away from my goal weight and i'm slightly nervous about maintaining healthy life after that. i'm working on non-weight related goals but find it harder to do exercises than not put food in my mouth :) i would love to talk to people that are in the same boat with that. It would be nice if you were…

I ate way more than I should have today
I ate more today than I have in 6 years. I had 3500 calories today. ( been very depressed, was hungry so I ate) will I gain a pound from one day of over eating?
-
is this still considered maintaining?
There are days that I go from 114lbs one day to 120lbs by the next, and then to 116, where sometimes I'll stay at that weight for a few days. Those crazy differences, are they really that crazy after all? Is this a normal weight fluctuation? I don't change my calorie intake or exercise levels at all when this is happening.

Frustrated
I have lost weight and was at my ideal weight twice, but eventually it comes back. I’m so frustrated, how do I eat to KEEP the weight OFF! I exercise most every day, I love to exercise, but my weight comes back and it seems its harder to take off the weight the next time. My diet has changed, I’m eating more vegetables…

Pregnant - what should I set my calorie goal to?
I just found out that I'm pregnant, and I want to track my foods to ensure I'm eating a healthy and reasonable diet. Should I edit my goal to "maintaining weight", even though there is no way I will maintain my current weight over the course of the next few months?

How does one ACCURATELY determine their activity level?
Ive always "erred" on the cautious side of calculating activity levels..I sit at a desk most of the day..some gettig up and walking when needed. At home, I walk alot at animal feeding time (we have livestock) twice a day. evenings I can say its usually 20-30 minutes of almost continous walking as I drop hay and fill water.…

Maintaining Through Winter because I'm not masochistic
I am not a winter weight loser. I have no desire to reduce calories and workout hard in the winter. I am cold, and slow, and lethargic.... I want to eat warm soups and stews, all the carbs, and wear my flannel PJs...... The days we have glorious weather... I get it done. I wear tiny workout clothes and run around for hours…

Fat question
Before I began losing weight the fat on my body was kinda firm. Because my body has been using the fat there is increased blood flow and the fat I have left is extremely squishy. Once I transition to maintaining my weight and I am no longer using that fat storage, is it reasonable to assume the fat will become a bit more…

Feeling Trapped at Maintenance
After a long year of calorie restricting and deficits I have moved into maintenance! Exciting, but you start to get into the "finally" mentality... which is how Im feeling. I am very short, so my maintenance is only around 1463 calories total.... This totally isn't enough to satisfy me as a "normal" eating day .. so Im…

Deficit, maintenance or surplus?
Basics are: I'm a 27 y/o female, 5'5 and 123lbs right now. I'm almost finished with the basic level of You Are Your Own Gym by Mark Lauren and starting to see definition, I also walk the dog for about an hour a day when she's at mine (stays with my parents sometimes due to work) and hoping to start kickboxing lessons…

Another activity level question for TDEE
I've been maintaining for a while now but I always feel like I'm "dieting" even though I'm not losing any more weight. I'm happy with the lifestyle changes I've made, but still very carefully monitor/log my eating and exercise. I don't like feeling like my exercise "earns" me calories, so I want to switch to a TDEE-based…

Advice? Opinions?
Hey everyone! I am now at a point where I am ready to start eating at maintenance. I have a fitbit and for the sake of simplicity let's say it is completely accurate in its estimate of my TDEE. I need some advice and opinions on how I should structure my calories for the week or day. I have a very active job and am also…

Seeking running buddies who are maintaining
Hi I am a working mum in my early 50s, now maintaining and getting into running, and I am looking for one or two friends perhaps in a similar situation who are happy to comment on my progress each day - and I will comment on your diary and exercise posts - and together we can motivate each other. Running is not for…

There is no end point
People have a tendency to think that there is a destination or an end point to weight loss and fitness. If you think of it as an ongoing journey, it is possible to find success. There is this impression that when you set a goal of weight loss, you reach that goal and take a picture of your success, and you are done. Once…

losing weight Is easy, maintenance is hard!!
I was reading through some success stories online and the most common thing I've heard was maintaining the weight loss is hard. I want to know why? I mean if we continue logging and staying with in our goals won't we maintain that weight loss? I'm just fearful of losing all of this weight then gaining it all back. Insight…
