Buckle down and log everything. Looks like you signed up as a NY resolution. Those usually don't work out. I've never kept one. I signed up the same time but not as a NYR - I just happened to get a tablet for xmas and found the app. 9 out of 10 friends I made when I signed up did it as a NYR and were gone within a couple weeks. I used to see people post about how you have to want it bad enough, and it pissed me off because I felt like I had been wanting it bad enough and it just hadn't been working. But they were mostly right. In part, I just didn't know wth I was doing, but mostly, I didn't want it bad enough or I would have figured it out a long time ago.
Just pick one thing and be good at it. For me, it was food. I'd recommend going that route. I hear you can't out-train a bad diet. If you can get food down, you can work on learning to like and incorporate exercise. Or, if you enjoy exercise, you can do that and work on improving your diet. It doesn't have to be all or nothing. I've been here 5 months and I'm pretty good about food and just "meh" with working out. The most important thing for me has been recognizing that one bad day, or even one bad week doesn't mean I need to give up or that I can't do it. I'm down 20+ lbs since Christmas and I've had at least 3 full weeks when I've eaten at or above maintenance, and did ZERO exercise. I wouldn't recommend that route for weight loss  but it's just an example of how hitting a rough spot, or getting sick, or being human doesn't have mean that you failed. Just pick yourself up and keep going, and try to make an effort to improve, everyday. You have to try! :flowerforyou:0 -
Oh ur welcome love:bigsmile:0

Don't be so hard on yourself. At least you came back. Congratulation on doing that.0

I can relate...I've been overweight my entire life. And have been "dieting" for more or less 25 of my 36 years. And this February, I finally came to my breaking point of being MORE "tired of being overweight", than of being tired of the effort it would take to NOT be overweight. It's a slow process for me; its not easy. But what is helping me get through this time (and hopefully you as well) is to remember this is about a trend, not a moment. That it's about making choices and not having it all. Sometimes I choose the cupcake, but then I choose to exercise a little longer and/or a little harder. And it's about not expecting perfection, because that is not real life. I used to give up because I didn't have a "perfect" day, but once I stopped being so hard on myself, and realized that it's about a trend and choices, and doing something that I could live with for the rest of my life, I suddenly found more motivation, drive and patience that I had in years. It took many many years for this to click or sink in with me, but I hope this may help you!0

I've always been overweight so I know how you feel. This is my second time around on here. I hope you can find the motivation and determination you need to stick with it!0

You're totally welcome! You're not alone.0 -
You can do this! We all have histories of repeated failed attempts at weight loss and we all keep coming back. It is that desire you have that will drive you to success...the time is now and I applaud you for trying again.
I know you didn't ask, but here are some things I found most useful for my process:
1. Do not be overly restrictive - eat enough to maintain your body's healthy processes (so, calculate your BMR and TDEE and eat at a reasonable deficit from there), and do not refuse yourself your favorite foods (mine are ice cream and cookies) - just eat less of them (I preportion my favorites and eat a little every day).
2. One major change at a time. Get that change to a comfort level and add another new change...and continue
3. Get enough water - staying hydrated is very important for our bodies to properly function
4. Eat lots of protein - 1gram per pound of lean body mass or .85 grams per pound of your weight
5. When you are ready, add weight training 2 or 3 times a week - there are great programs like NROL and Stronglifts (lots of info on the message boards)
6. Tell yourself over and over and over that you can do this - KEEP SAYING IT UNTIL YOU TRULY BELIEVE IT
Best of luck to you! YOU CAN DO THIS!!!0 -
Thank you to all of you for the support. My confidence level with myself is pretty good right now. I just continue telling myself I can do it. Thank you thank you thank you!!!0
