Let's try this again... :)

Hi! My name is Rashanti and two years ago my friend told me about this site when I started to get in shape. Kept track and lost 14 pounds before I was screwed over (with bills) by my local gym. Completely plateaued and gave up. A few weeks ago I've decided to go ahead and fulfill a dream of joining the military. I'm overweight and I don't want that to stop me from going after my goals (Stop pursuing softball and basketball due to my weight).

Started to clean up my diet 2 weeks ago and started working out last week. We just recently moved into a place that has a cardio center and that REALLY helps. 255 was my weight when I rejoined the site last wednesday. Tried to weigh in today, but unfortunately, wasn't able to see any progress being made being that my menstrual cycle started and I'm bloated like a balloon. So I'm really anxious to finally be able to see my progress and add it to my diary next week :)

Hi there! It can be disheartening when those scales don't move - but it sounds like you're definitely on the right track. I always don't lose or even put some on during that time of the month, only for it to drop right off the week after so keep faith! I'm sure you'll see some progress next week.

Have fun and good luck! :)

Sometimes if the scale doesn't move I have to focus on other things, like maybe I can climb a set of stairs without breathing as hard as I did the week before, or my sore muscles remind me what an awesome healthy thing I am doing for myself. Or I don't have indigestion or that icky overfull feeling from overeating the wrong things.

    Congrats on your fresh start!
