I recently finished C25K, and my advice is to take it slow, meaning don't worry about your pace, and if your not ready to move on, repeat the week until you're comfortable with it. I also recommend getting good running shoes- they really do prevent injury, and a good sports bra. Have fun with it and good luck!0

This!
I thought this app was great to get me started running. However, when I got to the point that I was running "10 minutes or 1 mile," I decided to see if I truly was running a mile. I wasn't. (like the previous poster said- go as slow as you need to!)
Worry about distance, not pace. There's a great facebook group if you're one FB called Favorite Run (http://www.facebook.com/myfavoriterun. They have tons of tips and motivational memes.0 -
I am doing Zombie 5k which is like Couch25k program but it follows more of a story line and you get chased by zombies haha - I am on week 3 and all I can say is don't look ahead - it will make you feel like its impossible, if you start out being about to only run 30 seconds and need a break thinking of running 15 mintues straight will make you want to quit, TRUST THE SYSTEM, you will be ready.
Also, its not about pace, my first couple 'runs' were slower than my walks, it takes time.
and good shoes!0 -
Hi, can't believe I am seriously thinking about jogging/running! I can not run to save my life but am liking the sound of this Couch 2 5K. I've looked at the apps and am a bit confused as there seem to be several offering the same thing (I'm not very technical!! So am an absolute absolute beginner!!!) Anyway what I really want is an app for iPhone 4 that gently gets me started, tells me when to walk/jog, has music & a voice that motivates, I don't want to have to keep looking at the screen or tapping it so is there such an app??? (C25K for idiots I guess ;-D)
How do you log it in your exercise tracker??0 -
Josiebum, the C25K Cool Running app sounds like what you need, a charming voice comes on to tell you when to "start running" and "begin walking". You can run Nike + in the background, and access your music as well.
I am on w5d2. Two weeks ago I couldn't run get through week 3, 3 minutes of running was impossible. Now I can run for about 14. In a few days I will run for 20.
My advice is to repeat the days you don't do perfectly, if for a run portion of 90 seconds you only ran 60, repeat the day.
This will make the transition to the next stage easier.
Good luck!0 -
I used the C25k by ZenLabs on my 4s. You can listen to your music while you run, and the app will chime in to tell you when to begin running/walking.
Like people have said, repeat the days or weeks you find most challenging. You will get there. I NEVER ran before I used this app. Because of this app I ran my first mile. Then my first two. You can do it!0
