Is Wahoo Fitness Tickr good for resistance training?

So I've been using my Wahoo Tickr heart rate monitor in the gym recently. Even though, in the app for it, there's no option for resistance training, would the calorie reading be accurate if I use it for resistance training?
Shouldn't it be accurate since the calories burned are calculated based on my heart rate, correct?

No HRM is accurate for resistance training. The correlation between heart rate and calories burned for that type of activity simply does not exist.
Increased heart rate does not necessarily mean increased caloric burn. If it did, riding a roller coaster or watching scary movies would be just as effective as running or cycling.0
