Ever have a day where you just seem to eat everything?

Today was that day, and I know tomorrow is a new day... but for some reason today I was carb crazy, and it put me over by about 500 calories.
For the past few days I haven't had much of an appetite because I've been feeling bloated from stupid Fiber One bars, and today was the first day my body has finally started to get back to normal. I'm wondering if my crazy hunger was fueled by finally getting rid of that nasty bloated feeling and all the waste that was taking up space and making me feel kind of sick?
Anyway, I'm hoping to get back on track tomorrow. Thanks for listening.

That was my day yesterday, I was exhausted and just wanted to sleep and eat! I ended up more than 1500 over my allowance, but on days like that I just look what I went over my maintenance calories. Still nothing I can do but start again and try learn self control!0

Today was that day for me, too. I haven't done that in a month or more, but man... today I helped someone move a bunch of furniture and we stopped for Carl's Jr., and then beers... and then... eh... cake, I think? Anyway, I added it into MFP out of morbid curiosity and I'm something like 2000 calories *over*, lmfao.
Think I'm going to have a nice refreshing coma.0 -
I've sometimes seemed to be hungry all day after heavy lifting days. I do have the occasional day just eating to hunger, and I don't think it does any harm (I usually log it and find that I've eaten to about my TDEE or a bit above). I don't try to make up the calories by exercise or eating less the next day, but just have it as a free day. Some people say that it's actually helpful to eat a bit more now and then.
It's frustrating when I feel particularly hungry more than one day in a week, though!0 -
oh god just yesterday i made chocolate cake for my SO and i licked out the bowl and then ate like 3 slices of cake felt so sick after from all the chocolate and i am supposed to be on low carb from doctor haha but it was worth it i feel fantastic today.
Come to think of it friday was also my lifting day0 -
At least 500 calories isn't everything:). I could go more than 500 over:)0

Yesterday was that day for me. I went about 1300 calories over. Was active all week and today all I could do was eat and sleep! Tomorrow's another day...will get back on track.0

Friday was that day for me. I work rotating shifts and it is always the hardest when I work nights. I will get up & have breakfast and then stay busy to keep my mind off of food but unfortunately had a special k crisp bar and couldn't stop after that. Seemed like everything I saw went into my mouth, talk about weakness, once I started it was a free for all. Ended the day being 800 calories over my target even after working out for 45 minutes. Have hit another plateau and need something to get back on track and start losing again. Tomorrow will start again.0

Haha "morbid curiousity" is a great way of putting it. On days when I know I've gone over a huuuuge amount, I still like to be able to quantify it, rather than just stating that I know I went over really bad.
If anything, it helps put it in perspective vs. a mere estimate.0 -
The days I do that are usually the days I dont get regular meals! I work in a small OR and start my day with breakfast at 5:30 then go to work and maybe don't get a chance to eat until 15 or 16:00 hrs due to being scrubbed in OR we get a small meal from the Clinic resto at about 11:30 but someone has to find time to go and get it and if you start a case at 11:15 well hard luck! Clinic really cares about its staff being healthy haha. Anyway I am sooo hungry by 16:00 hrs that from then on its a downward spiral and the rest of the day is just no control at all. I do take fruit in to work but sometimes dont even get the time to eat that with 2 cases back to back.
So what I do is keep just under the calories for good days don't count my exercise calories and look at the weekly totals . Weight loss is slow but I am over 57 and so with a knee problem sport is rather restricted, walk gym but nothing like a run I would be crippled.
It's just living that makes things hard from time to time You just have to addapt to it all and I tell myself it took me years to get to this state and a few months aren't too long to go the other way even if it's like 36 of them0 -
I have a day like that about every 10 days and I figure my body is craving the food I'm depriving it of to lose weight.
My food is 1390 a day, but I allow myself 1800 if I had a carb craving day. I think it's a good thing to do once in a while as it stops you constantly craving and totally going off plan.
Enjoy what you have for those 500 calories and start afresh the following day.0 -
I have days like this quite often. I've learnt to just go with it but try and make most of what I eat reasonably healthy. I think that if your body is telling you it needs something you need to listen to it.
I've lost 8 pounds (probably more than that in fat because I've gained muscle) in the last 7 weeks or so and within that time I've had several binge days (usually due to social occasions) and lots of days where I've eaten way more than my calorie allowance. I find that as long as I'm being healthy most days and I'm exercising most days, these overeating days don't hinder weight loss.0 -
Yep, it's usually the first or second day of my monthly visitor. I let myself eat whatever the hell I want, I'm only human after all! Indulging on these special days gets me through them!0

i felt like i ate the house yesterday, couldnt stop. snacks here. snacks there...but luckily the cal # i hit was my lower than my cals burned, so i did have a deficit (thank you bodymedia!) but the sodium levels i hit were a bit outrageous. ouch. TOM is coming for sure, but its cool....cause i usually have 1 cheat day a week and i guess yesterday was it! lol.0

This is when I turn to my food log and see what I am missing for the day.
Just yesterday, hubby says to me.."I'm so hungry, I have cravings for everything right now!"
So we looked at his food journal....OOPS carbs too low. EAT A BANANA I said to him.
He did..he was fine, his energy went up. All good!
Sometimes you just need to figure out what is missing from your daily intake. Its not rocket science.0
