Medications

Feeling jittery today. Had a normal breakfast. I wonder if my meds have something to do with it? I take 4 different meds for high blood pressure and 2 for cholesterol. I have been eating better and exercising I wonder if it's time to have my doctor change my meds? it's been over a month since my last appointment and my numbers were pretty bad.

Can your blood sugar by doing something? I've had the jittery sensation when my blood sugar was crashing. I'm not diabetic, but I couldn't believe how much better I felt after I ate. Any meds can have side effects, so that could also be what is causing it. No way to definitively know unless you go by way of eliminating the meds (don't do that without talking to the docs that gave you the meds).

I was also diagnosed with diabetes but not taking any meds for it. My doctor told me to try and manage it first. Maybe it could be my blood sugar but I ate and I still feel the same.

What is your food macro split like? If your blood sugar spikes and dips dramatically, the effect could still be this jittery feeling. Try eating cheese or something with protein and fat instead of anything carb/sugar related.

In the long term try evening out your blood sugars (which means always balancing out your meals and snacks with protein and fat). Split your macros to 1/3, 1/3, 1/3 for your carb, fat, protein mix. You'll find it is still lower in carbs than you're used to, but it will get easier in about 2 weeks. I can finally say no to the second helping of rice at dinner! :)

Look into Glycemic Index of various foods that you want to eat. This will also help out your blood sugar levels.
