Just joined MFP - having trouble deciding how much weight I want to gain a week, if at all

Hi,
I'm about 11st, 5'10". I'm skinny but have more body fat than I'm happy with, especially around the moob, belly area (I'm probably 20-22% bodyfat).
I'm trying to get bigger and put on muscle. I'm doing a full body session 3 times a week (when I feel up to it, sometimes it's just twice a week).
My dilemma is - how much weight do I want to gain a week? I'm guessing that eating enough food to gain 1lb a week is only going to worsen the body fat situation?
0.5lb a week will minimise fat gain relative to muscle, but I guess that won't help the body fat situation either.
I certainly don't think aiming to lose weight would be a good idea, since I don't have enough muscle mass to make that an easy task, I have no muscle to cut to.
I guess maintaining my weight is an option (recomp), but that feels like it would be a hard option mentally since I'm eager to increase my lifts quickly.
Has anyone been through this and have any advice?
(I put this in 'Food and Nutrition' because it seemed to be a diet related issue, sorry if this is the wrong place).

Shoot for 3-4lbs a month and adjust from there as needed.0

I'm not trying to gain sof if I'm totally off the mark sorry.
I'd start with figuring what your proper maintenence even is, honestly. And then go slow, more than half a pound a week just seems unrealistic to me, especially since you're just starting out.0
