Carob powder?

Is it healthy? I've been using it instead of cocoa because it has less fat, no caffeine, no excitotoxins, and it doesn't stain like cocoa does-- it just wipes off with water! I have the roasted kind and its really bitter; for those that have tried it, is raw less bitter?

No real reason to eat carob over chocolate unless you need to.

Unfortunately, my daughter is highly intolerant of cocoa/cacao (yes, really). So we substitute a lot of carob. I use a raw organic carob only because that's easiest for me to find where I live. I don't find it to be very bitter, it's actually a lot sweeter than raw cacao.

But if you can eat chocolate, why wouldn't you?
