Cutting Phase Newbie

Alrighty I'm ready to begin my cutting phase! - I think. I've been weight training the last 4 months and have put on 6kgs much to my dismay, but I'm feeling generally good about myself.

Its my first time and would really appreciate any help I could get in regards to diet! I have an open diary if anyone wants to have a peek and give some pointers.. some times I forget to log though but I try be good most the time

    Log everything. The cut is all about consistency, yes the days you over eat you will fill up your energy stores, take on more water, but you won't really gain much fat, so it is all about being consistent with your deficit, your water intake, and watching your sodium, and being patient about the fat coming off.
    Other things like whether to eat less wheat or sugar are more personal, fyou'll see what happens if you change things, but don't change too much at the same time.

    If you have been eating 1200 cals the last 4 months then you were already cutting?

    hmm 1200 is the cals MFP gave me..? I haven't lost any weight or seen any noticeable changes in my body just yet..
    I figured the low cals would be because I'm a little short and need less fuel to function?

    Exactly, of you have put on 6kg of Mostly Muscle then you really weren't cutting. Upping your Cardio and Eliminating bad days will give you that deficit.
