When you started this site it helped you set a calorie goal to lose so much a week. when you add exercise it ups your calorie intake so that you continue to lose the set amount per week. if you do not eat back the calories you burned your body will go into stravation mood and you will gain weight. if you eat to make the 0 point on this site you will still lose the weight you wanted to. just make sure you are eating at lease 1300 a day that is about as low as a female can go safely.

I don't eat back my burned calories, but I also don't do cardio on a regular basis (only when I hit the trails every once in a while).

found a calculator and these are my numbers...

I put all my info in and here are the numbers - BMR is 1506, TDEE is 1807, to lose 1 lb a week is 1307...so what should my calorie goal be?

I'm surprised at some of the ummm passionate responses, since we are essentially talking about a couple of hundred calories here!

I am no expert, and I don't have a big successful weight loss history, so take this for what it's worth. If those were my numbers, I would set my target to 1600, eat back half my exercise calories, and give it 3-4 weeks and see what happens. And in that time, I would try to be super careful with my logging, because it seems like you don't have much wiggle room there. :drinker:

well I use a HRM so I know exactly how many calories I've burned, and I let myself eat some of them back. But never all of them, becauset then I feel like I've cancelled out my workout.
