How accurate is MFP?

I see on my goal page this information:
From Normal Daily Activity 4,150 calories/day
This is what I supposedly burn a day by doing my normal walking and moving around. Now, I know this is higher than most due to my size (6'7" 407lbs) but how accurate is this number really? I set my activity level to "Slightly Active" due to having an erratic job in which I sometimes walk 5+ miles a day to less than 2+ miles a day. Nothing too crazy. Any clue if the number I'm losing is close to accurate?

Sounds about right. If you are still unsure, I'd plug your info into something like http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/ - which actually gave me more than 4150 based on the little I know about you.
Takes a lot to move us bigger boys around.0 -
That's great. I love the site you linked. I guess it just seems like a lot for me to burn by just breathing.0

I usually use Mayo Clinic's calculator for my TDEE. http://www.mayoclinic.org/calorie-calculator/itt-20084939 I didn't have all of your information, but I put your height, weight, 35 years old (not too young, not very old, lol), and 'somewhat active', the number I got was 3700 calories. Which makes me want to cry, considering my TDEE is about half that!
(I am a foot and a half shorter than you.
) To be honest, though, I don't think you're in a place where you need to worry too much about calories. Just try to make healthy choices; you'll cut calories by choosing to eat nutritious foods instead of not-so-nutritious foods.
