UK Bannatynes Health Clubs - worth it?

Currently out of contract at my current gym which I never liked anyway for various reasons. I'm thinking of joining Bannatynes but the nearest one to me is a 25 minute, 12 mile drive straight down the M1. I do work around 9 mile away from it however, so good for going straight afterwards!
Is this an unreasonable travel time to a gym? Are Bannatynes worth the extra travel for a better class of equipment and facilities etc? How far do you travel to your gym?
Thanks for any suggestions or opinions!

I looked at Bannarynes when I was looking into gyms, but ended up at Nuffield Health instead. If there's one near you, would be worth checking out. Mine is great - good quality. Oh, and five minutes from my workplace :-)0
