    I love radishes and might have them instead of potatoes, but I really don't see how they work as pretend potatoes or why such a thing is desirable. Besides, they are much more similar to turnips, which I also sometimes have instead of potatoes.

    Parsnips and turnips are also good substitutes for potatoes if you are looking for some variety in your root veggies. :yum:
