Any recommendations for good running/training shoes?

I am definitely in need of some new trainers. I am starting to get shin splits with the old ones, any recommendations for a girl on a budget? Lol

The best shoes are the ones that support your feet in the right way and don't hurt you.

My brand preference used to be Mizuno... but they quit making the model I loved. Their replacement shoe doesn't work for me.

    This is a good link:

Everyone's feet are different. The best thing to do is go to a running store, and let the salesperson watch you walk around to see how your foot pronates, and then they'll be able to recommend several brands that you can try on. Paying a lot of money for a running shoe that won't work for you is no fun.

Go to a specialty running store. I'll be honest, cheap running shoes usually wear out pretty fast.

i agree. i was very hesitant to buy brooks b/c of the cost but my husband insisted. so glad he did. i tried cheap ones and they would hurt my feet and wear-out in a month or two.

Second the bit about going to a running store and getting fitted! I'd heard Brooks and New Balance were good, but they ended up being wrong for me. I've been running in Asics for about 10 years now.

And yes, don't hesitate to spend good money!! A good pair of running shoes will prevent costly injuries later.

Wow. Awesome advice I will definitely do that. Great! Thanks. Good point about preventing future injuries I need to invest on myself.
