Hello from the Northern Rivers, NSW

Greetings from subtropical Australia. 45 yo man, married with two kids. A few months ago I decided to undertake what I've called Operation 47. That's to reach a goal of 100 kgs by my 47th birthday, which is in Dec 2015. I'm currently 136 kg and 186 cm tall. After a few false starts, I've actually gone ahead and began a new regime of healthy eating with a view to get into some sort of aerobic exercise (walking etc) in the very near future.

Why? Well, health is the big one. I can feel myself getting unhealthier as time goes on. I can't move as well as I once could - even accounting for aging. My asthma is getting worse. So there's that. I want more health, more energy, brighter prospects and so on.

There's also the fact that I have to wear big guy sizes and they're not readily available in my area. I have a wardrobe full of clothes I could wear in my late 20s and early 30s and I'd like to be able to wear them again.

Of course self-esteem has a lot to do with it. I'm aware I'm a big unit with a protruding gut and I genuinely feel if I can succeed in getting my weight down to 100 kg...well hell, I can do anything.

Look forward to interacting with you all.
Peter
