In that article, the word "rev" appears 4 times and "boost" appears 4 times. I'm surprised there's no "jump start" and "kick start" in there.

SOME of the things mentioned have been conclusively studied and can have a measurable impact on metabolism. However, the human metabolism is not a calorie burning mechanism that turns on and off, gets dialed up and down, etc. Subtle metabolic fluctuations happen constantly without any real impact.

Many of the studies mentioned in the article are studies of correlation, not cause. For example, "Women who ate low-fat dairy products, such as nonfat yogurt and low-fat cheese, three to four times a day lost 70 percent more fat than low-dairy dieters, according to a study published in the journal Obesity Research." Yet, people who are on low fat diets tend to lose less weight than people on low carb diets. Why? Because there are too many factors to consider. Just because two things are correlated does not mean that they are causing each other.

I really hate the overly simplistic tone and terminology of "Calcium is like a switch!" and that. It is not. Stop. No.
