Smoothie Help Please

We made smoothies for breakfast last night using our Nutri Ninja. Our recipe was as follows:
1 cup almond milk, 1 cup of frozen fruit, 1/8 c chia seeds, 1/8 c flax seeds, and a hand full of kale. Smelled great and tasted great last night. Grab it for work this morning -- sit down at my desk and it is impossible to swallow. Taste was still good but it had set up like wall paper paste. I added 1/4 c of water and shook really well. Still thick as all get out! We've been doing smoothies for several months and never had this problem. Is it the kale? Is it the new blender grinding things too well?
TIA

Chia seeds expand when left in liquid. If you want to make the smoothies in advance, leave out the Chia seeds and just add them in whole right before drinking it.0

Ok, we've been grinding the chia in our Magic Bullet and never had this problem. I guess they just really got immersed in the liquid. THANKS0
