loving my new digital food scale

I am loving my new digital food scale. About two weeks ago my old plastic cheap scale finally bit the dust. And man am I glad it did. I honestly can't tell u why I kept that pos for as long as I did. I guess I should have gotten rid of it long ago but I really didn't understand how bad it really was until I bought my new one. Plus I cannot tell u all how bad I miscalculated foods just by "eyeballing" them. My idea of a "small" or medium anything, especially apples and potatoes is so different than MFP's. Finally now I can confidently know how much I am really eating and the correct numbers. This is really going to help in my wright loss. Best investment I have made so far.

You should weigh the rice and preferably raw. Yes I weigh everything I can. Apples, rice, chicken, peanut butter, mixed veg, shrimp, to name a few. Use the Tare button to zero out the weight of your plate even if it already has other foods on it. You could also do this with whatever cooking container you'll be Using. I use it for my little rice cooker. I also just let the scale time out and don't bother hitting the off button

You should search the site for tips and tricks on using a food scale there's so much helpful information on here!

Peanut butter especially! It's so easy to miscalculate and when you only have 250 calorie deficit a day, that one can easily sabotage your whole day.
