How to start?

Guys, Help!
Brand new. I'm kinda just using the first week or two to experiment with where I'm at with my diet and exercise. Wondering what I can do to jump start my energy and weight loss. If I could cut out one thing from my diet besides soda, what should it be? I've heard sugar, carbs, and dairy. Should I detox my body before I get really into my weight loss?

I don't do elimination diets or very low calorie diets. Detoxes are unnecessary (and freak me out). I don't believe these are sustainable or healthy. Try this, instead:
Drink more water. Find healthier foods that you enjoy, incorporate more of those into your diet. It's fine to eat junk food, just eat less of it. Pay attention to serving sizes.
Get active. Find something you enjoy (walking, biking, swimming, calisthenics, etc). If it makes you happy, you're more likely to do it again.
Small changes become habit.0
