5'4", 220 and almost 35, ready for a change!

Hi everyone! I've been a member for quite a while, but have had many starts and stops. I'm determined to be successful this time! I am 5'4" and weigh 220 and would like to lose 100 pounds. I lost my mom to ALS one year ago and I want to be as healthy as possible for myself, my husband, and my two daughters.
I was a normal weight for most of my life until age 25, when I started gaining, and gained more with each pregnancy. Each time I would lose the pregnancy weight immediately, only to put it back on. I'm looking to lose slowly and sustainably. So far, I'm doing yoga twice a week but plan to add weights 2-3 times and cardio 3 times.
Would love to hear stories and inspiration from folks who have a lot to lose:-)

Hi Jena. Lost my mom the same way. I have about 35 - 40 lbs to lose but have had great success here. Calorie deficit. I eat what I want. Refuse to go on any kind of a diet as I know life is too short to restrict. As long as I stay in a calorie deficit each day I lose weight. Good luck and add me if you like. :D
  • Hey Jena. My introductory post was quite similar to yours too. Putting on weight after pregnancies. ... i wish you the best. Feel free to add me. We can hopefully keep each other motivated :-)
