Weight loss psychology - exercice points

I'm relatively new to using exercice points, even though I've been exercising for years. I find I'm using these points in weird ways - or maybe the psychology of weight loss/exercise evades me.

-I dipped into the chocolate jar today. Normally, I would feel devastated and EAT MORE. But I looked at the exercice I needed to do in order to get an acceptable number of calories for the day. When I realized I just needed a walk and a bit of weight training, I STOPPED EATING. Craving gone. Who cares about chocolate anyway.

So... Anyone else has funky food/exercice psychology stories? I just don't get it.

It doesn't sound that weird to me. As we keep logging various foods and activities over time, and it sinks in how much each food item really costs, we can "budget" our calories more wisely without having to think about it as much.

counting macros. I've turned eating completely into a numbers game, vs "oh i wish I could eat more. when I eat one serving, I'm perfectly fine with it because I've accounted for that and only that (unless I purposely measure out 2 to begin with). It strange compared to before where I'd eat a bit, then give in and keep eating it.

I don't think its weird, I think its all about learning moderation and just how many calories are in something we use to eat mindlessly.
