Question about Quest Bars

I've been trying to look for a quick, easy breakfast that I can take on the go that's a little less carb heavy than my strawberry smoothies. I've been hearing about quest bars, and I'd really like to try them. My question is carbs. I know they only have 5 grams net carbs, but they have 24 grams total carbs. Thats a lot. Do I just count the carbs that aren't fiber? Thanks!

Are you low-carbing? On the Atkins diet, you count the NET carbs, NOT total. That means that you ONLY count the carbs that are NOT fiber. :) Now, having said that, unless you're planning on low-carbing for the rest of your life (IF that's what you're doing), then you should find a way of eating that you can continue for the rest of your life. If you lose the weight in a way that you cannot sustain for life, then the weight has a very high chance of coming back. :)

Its like 20 gr of fiber.....
I guess depends on your goals and what you want from low carb.....

But I think they are good

Each flavor has a different amount of carbs and fiber. For instance cookies and cream and chocolate chip cookie dough have 3 net carbs and 17 grams of fiber. And the carbs are from nuts, not sugar. They are a great sub for breakfast IMHO. Go for it.

Dude, the OP asked a simple question about Quest bars, not your opinion of low-carb diets...

OP, just count the net carbs. I eat a Quest bar for breakfast most mornings, along with a couple of eggs. That pretty much keeps me satisfied until lunch. They have more than a dozen flavors; you may have to try several to find what suits you.

I did not sleep well last night, and I am laughing way too hard at this. I need sleep.

I honestly just log whatever I eat and forget about it. Since I'm not a diabetic or someone who needs to track carbs for medical reasons, I try not to worry too much about net carbs.

Fibre is an undigetible carb so it doesn't count for calories but it's good for other reasons.
