How much fat can you put on in a day?

Let's say you eat healthy and within your calorie goals all the time, and then, one day, go nuts and take in 10,000 extra calories. Would your body really have time to convert all those extra calories into three pounds of fat, or would it simply pass the majority through the system as too much to process?

Would you put on the same amount of fat that you'd put on by eating an extra 1,000 calories per day for ten days?

I know a woman who claims to have put on something like 20-30 pounds of fat in two weeks, and I'm wondering if such rapid fat gain is even possible.

The claim of being able to gain 20-30 pounds a week is amazing. Personally I would not be able to do it. Even at my highest gain per week rate, which was I am estimating just over a pound a week, but then I wasn't actually trying, I was stress eating. But, even if I was actively trying I doubt I could have gained more than 2 pounds a week. That is a lot of extra calories and it takes a lot of dedication to eat that many more over what you need to gain that amount of weight. You would literally have to down a lot of cream or something in shakes and eat a lot of greasy foods and eat a whole lot of sugar. And probably have to go very low protein (in comparison to the other macros) as well because foods higher in protein are just harder to eat unless it's tofu, but then eating a lot of tofu isn't really conducive to gaining weight either. And I think you would have to have virtually no fiber in your diet because those foods would fill your stomach to the point it would be painful to have that much food in it.

Honestly most weight fluctuations are fluid, I've shifted 5-10lbs in a day before (and it's completely due to fluid retention). Now with that being said if you actually overeat ENOUGH, you can actually gain a substantial amount of fat. Basically if you put it in your body, your body is going to try to use it.

    If there's a "limit" I honestly don't know.
