Not sure if it's healthy haha but I like to do a sort of chili
125grms Ground Turkey
1/4 cup pasta sauce
1/4 salsa (I like this organic type stuff from co-op, can't remember what it's called)
a little bit of shredded cheese
a few squirts of hot sauce
It is a little warm, specially since my salsa is quite hot.
I usually have it by itself (I tend to eat small snacks/meals, than larger meals) and it's about 260 cals, but having it with noodles would be great.0 -
Do you like stuffed peppers? If you do, make up a mixture of couscous, cooked ground turkey, feta cheese, breadcrumbs and spices with some chicken broth. Sorry I don't have the exact recipe because my daughter makes it up as she goes along.0

I just use it like beef. Turkey meat loaf. Can add some cheese and salsa for flavor..even taco seasoning. Or make it more italian with mozz cheese and lots of Italian seasonings. Burgers. Cooked up and mixed with taco seasoning and on top of chips, sprinkled with cheese and sour cream (lite or fat free), salsa etc.0

I just made these delicious ground turkey and sweet potato shepherds pies, from skinnytaste.com:

i've been hooked one, super quick and easy. it's pretty much just spanish rice with ground turkey
on a side pot cook 1 cup rice (i use minute brown, takes as long as the meat to brown)
brown 1lb burger (i usually do this with half an onion or add onion powder once brown)
once both cooked, add 1 can El Pato mexican hot style tomato sauce and 3 chopped jalapenos(optional)
i usually call it good after i mix them, but you could definitely cook on low for a little bit for the rice to soak in the sauce.0 -
I usually make turkey burgers or turkey meatloaf from this recipe, the zucchini makes it moist:
1 lb ground turkey
1 C shredded zucchini
1/2 C bread crumbs
1 small onion minced
1 clove garlic minced
salt & pepper to taste0 -
One of my staple meals on here is a turkey chili of sorts
1 onion
1lb ground turkey
1 can crushed tomatoes
1 can whole tomatoes
2 fresh tomatoes
1 can mixed beans
3-6 cloves garlic
Spray olive oil
Other veggies leftover in the fridge (broccoli, capsicum, green beans, sugar snap peas, carrots, cauliflower etc.)
Salt, pepper, herbs to taste (oregano and basil, mmmmm )
Spray pan with olive oil, brown the onion, add crushed garlic and turkey mince, cook until browned.
Rinse beans thoroughly, and add beans, canned tomatoes, chopped fresh tomatoes and any other veggies
Leave to simmer 10-20 mins, add other seasonings.
For me this generally makes 3 or 4 servings (depending on how much I bulk it up with veggies), which I'd have as meals by themselves for about 300-400 calories each. You could alternatively make each serving smaller and have with rice or pasta or bread or something, or make into a taco/wrap.0 -
Thing is ground Turkey can be used for everything that Beef is used for. The meatloaf recipe my mom makes is 1lb ground Turkey, Salsa, egg, oatmeal. Mix it together and throw in the oven for 20 minutes to a half hour.0
