Started when I was 60. 5'2-3/4".
Size 24W 290#. Turned 63 on 9/30/14. Weight now between 125 & 130. Size 10 some 8.
Simple. Eat less than you burn. Same as for most people. Just that I am older.
I have to still watch what I eat and monitor my weight, the same as everyone. At my age, I do not need as many calories as younger people. I eat between 1500 - 1800 calories per day. I at least walk for 45 minutes every day.
Simple, but not easy, at least in my humble opinion.0 -
I am 5'1, 52 and reached my goal weight 2 months ago after losing 68 pounds in just over 2 years. I believe it was harder for me being older, but only because I was set in my habits of overeating almost my whole life. So I had some work to do to create new habits of moderation and in general a healthier relationship with food. I lost slowly (averaged about 2 1/2 pounds a month), continued with my walking and yoga which I had done for a long time, and about 1 year in added resistance training to help keep my bones strong and retain muscle as I lost (I wish I had started the resistance training the day I started eating at a deficit). It can be done! Good luck to you.0
