Steady state cardio workouts?

I am getting an HRM soon, so I was reading about them and I understand that you get the most accurate amount of calories burned by doing steady state cardio... so my question is, what exercises are considered "steady state"?

The "steady state" means you keep your heart rate at a higher rate depending on you age/weight/gender. For me anything in the range of 135-185 BPM is in the range that works optimal for me.
Running, swimming, cycling, hill sprint repeats, forms of class aerobics(zumba etc...)with plenty more all fall into "steady state".0 -

Oohh I guess that is why they say weight lifting isn't good for an HRM. It's not "steady". Sounds good. Thanks
