Treadmill vs Stair Climber vs Etc.

Hi

I am looking to buy my first piece of equipment! I would like to get something that targets my thighs and glutes if possible. I know you can't spot reduce and that is fine, I am not looking to reduce I just want to engage those parts of my body. I am super weak and that needs to change! Anyway, I need some help picking out what to get, I am clueless. I will be using it in my living room regularly so size does matter. I have a hard time breathing when I exercise using my own body weight so I was hoping a machine might help take some strain off and hopefully correct my form so I can do whatever exercise correctly. I have tried exercising in the past with no results so I can only blame bad form. Suggestions appreciated, thank you!

So you want to shape your thighs and glutes, and make them stronger...using a treadmill.

How about a squat rack instead?

a treadmill, or a stair climber, or anything else. To reiterate, I am clueless!

I have a tendency to hurt my back and I'd prefer the equipment can go into my house with no trainers/gym if possible. If I can't achieve a better form with home equipment I will have no choice but to join a gym but I'm hoping there is something out there!

The elliptical is probably gonna be your best bet, since it's self-propelled....whereas, whenever I get on the treadmill, i have a hell of a time finding the "sweet spot" for the best speed to incline ratio....lol. With the elliptical, you just hold on, and push, pull, push pull, and pedal ;)

BUT, definitely go somewhere you can "try before you buy"......so you don't get buried in a 3000 dollar gym accessory, get it home, and find you dislike it......
