Hey :)
I am getting P90X and I already have TRX.
I was wondering if I can do P90X's pull-up bar excercises with TRX as I don't have one and I don't have a proper door for it.

What exercises can (and can't) I do with TRX from the P90X ?

you can adapt the whole program for your TRX, and you'd probably be better off for it.

The main issue you will run into in adapting P90X to suspension training is that the suspension trainer equivalent to the P90X exercise recruits a lot more muscle groups. This has both its benefits and its drawbacks. The benefit is that you will effectively obsolete the Ab Ripper X supplemental workout, so that's 15 minutes off your workout everyday since you're killing your core using the TRX. The drawback is that you will have to make edits to the schedule because P90X features a heavy focus on isolation exercises, particularly on arm & shoulder days. There really is no TRX equivalent to these exercises because the TRX equivalents for these exercises pretty much hit the whole of the upper body and don't really allow you to isolate the intended muscle.

The weight days on P90X follow a traditional bodybuilder-style split, which has you working different muscle groups on different days, and hitting those muscles with such a high amount of volume that they need more than the standard 48 hours recommended rest. Adapting that to TRX will mean you won't be getting the rest you need because of the fact that you're not really isolating the muscles.

A while back I attempted adapting P90X to suspension training, and I found that I ended up not being able to follow the schedule because of the fact that chest & back (day 1) turned into such an intense upper body workout that my muscles were still blitzed for shoulders & arms (day 3). I ended up having to remove the shoulders & arms workout from the rotation completely because those muscle groups were hit so hard during the day 1 workout already.

So yeah, you could do it, but if you want to go that route you're better off following a plan designed specifically around the TRX. Because using the TRX for a split program like P90X is overkill and won't allow muscles the rest they need.

I dunno, biceps and triceps iso work so to go pretty well on the trx. Shoulders are a bit iffy tho.
