Who Else Can't Resist A Late Night Snack?

I find it difficult to hop into bed without eating some carbs first. I usually eat healthy cabs but they say you shouldn't eat food after 8pm at night if you're trying to lose weight or maintain a healthy fit body. It's not a good idea for someone who is over 200 pounds who wants to lose weight to eat late at night. But if you're already in fab shape, it's perfectly fine to eat your favorite rice pudding or prepare a sandwich or two with a nice cup of tea or coffee. It actually helps me sleep better, especially coming close to the winter.

Who else can't resist eating late at night and does it effect your weight loss/fitness goals?

I eat late night snacks every night. I lost 50 pounds the first year I was on this site and have been maintaining that loss for over 2 1/2 years. In those 2 1/2 years I've gone down 3 more clothing sizes due to body recomposition. I say snack away as long as it fits your calorie/macro goals :)

I'm s'pposed to snack before bed(which is actually early morning hours for me). If I don't...yea...problems arise. Big time. So I say if it works for u, go for it. Eat those treats before bed.

I eat at night. I also don't think it's dependent at all on what kind of shape one is in. If you can manage to stay in an energy deficit over time, eat whenever it suits you.

I like a cup of decaf coffee with chocolate almond milk and a few raw almonds at night.

My worse time is at night, uncontrollable snacking, so what I'm doing now is allowing snacking as long as I count it in my calories for the day. My favorite snack is skinny pop popcorn from Costco, very low in calories and filling.

I am a night eater so I always just save some calories for later in the night. Anywhere from 200 to 300. Tonight I'll be having leftover tomato basil soup I made for lunch earlier and a couple squares of ghirardelli sea salt and caramel chocolate :yum:

ETA: Lost 80 lbs so far. Snacking, eating at night, having desserts etc has not hindered it. Just gotta count the calories.

I just got back from getting a Frosty at Wendy's so, yes I like late night snacks but I think this one will definitely have a negative effect on my weight loss goal!

On my better days I still like to have a little something like a bit of good cheese with crackers or an apple with peanut butter if it fits into my calorie plan.

And tymeforme, I just tried the Skinny Pop the other day and it was so good!!!

Depends. If I have eaten a lot during the day, I usually don't get hungry at night. If I haven't eaten much during the day, I usually have a snack because I cannot sleep if I am too hungry.

Just finished my honey crisp apple and ounce of crunchy Virginia peanuts. All logged and accounted for... And I no longer want to chew off my own arm, LOL.
  • Late night snacks are fine if they are within your calorie budget.
