Calorie count varying and then on track

I am not very good at counting calories, I don't have much time to track it every day, I have an idea of what I am doing calorie wise but I don't over focus on my diet as much as other people on here might. It's easy for me to say no to fast food now and eating better is making me feel better.

My fitness goals were always 10lbs a month, I've done 20 lbs each month so far. I have a calorie goal of 2900 cal/147 protein. My normal meals during the week average 1900-2200 cal and 116g protein. Should I add more protein? I have whey protein that has 190 cal 30g protein that I'm thinking about using at the end of my day before exercise.

There are days I am off work however that I get invited to dinner, my xwife has been paying for a lot and I don't want to be mean but sometimes it's hard to find a healthy choice. If I hit say 3500 calories once or twice a week how much is it going to slow my progress?

There's so many pills that say they help with junk food, I've been sticking to the "chug water and get full" method. I was so happy to find Cracker Barrel had a low calorie fish dinner the other night, it made me feel so less guilty and really happy to be eating at a restaurant again.

I haven't been to mc donalds in 4 months, I really do blame it for hurting my health and if not for my daughter I'd prob never go there again, which than in itself is another conflict I'll have with the Xwife... junk food with my munchkin!
