I have lost a total of 27kgs. 15 whilst on MFP. Need tips to help rid the last 5 kgs. Still on a pretty strict 1200. Not much exercise.

I think you have already answered your own question.

I would say to reverse diet, upping your calories and metabolism, whilst keeping your weight about where it is now. Once you find your maintenance calories, stay there for a few weeks, to let your body recover. Then go for another round of weight loss, which should be easier after the reverse diet, as you should be able to lose the kg's without such a low calorie level.

Exercise too, introducing a little low resistance exercise like walking, a little resistance training, and some HIIT each week.

That's what I would do if in your situation anyway

Oh, if you do reverse diet or up your calories, don't be surprised if you see pounds drop rapidly, as if you've been plateaued for a while, your body's probably been clinging to those pounds for dear life, and once you start to up your intake, your body will then release them quickly enough.

    27kgs wow that is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!

If I was you I wouldn't be on 1200 calories anymore. Work out your bmr & tdee, and eat between these amounts.

Also why not add in some exercise? The more you move the more you can eat.

Do you really want to be on 1200 calories for the next 5kgs??? NO

I would say eat around 1500 calories and get some exercise in, make it fun!

Also weight training is good to tone up & lose some fat, build some muscle.

    Congrats - You've done amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    What are your stats now?

    Height ?

    Before weight?

    Now weight?

Thanks great tips. I think I will try that. I am 5'2 Aussie girl, I was 97 kgs, now 70. Lost the last 15 or so since Joing MFP in Januaray this year. Have been on the same weight for almost 1 month now, following an overseas holiday. ( hence the initial motivation to loose). When I say I don't exercise what I mean is I don't gym, lift , run etc, I have a very high activity job (often 10000 steps by noon.) and do short walks when able on days off.

I have nothing intelligent to add to the discussion, just that my dyslexic brain saw the thread title as, "Any tips to get off my last 5 kegs?" And thought, "Have a party!" It's too early for coherent thought.

Seriously though OP, good job so far on what you've accomplished and best wishes on your continued weight loss.

    Vegan, vegan, vegan.

The more fiber in your diet, the better. More fruit, remove the animal products.
Reduce your sodium intake, lower your fat intake. Your fat intake should be 10 percent or less of your total daily calories.
