Start simple, log everything, find a reasonable calorie deficit. Start creating good habits: Logging accurately and consistently, get up and move.
Also look at why you didn't stick with it in the past.....
Did you try and make too many changes at once?
Did you try to big of a calorie restriction?
Did you try to eliminate food groups?
Keep it simple, focus on one choice at a time. Don't make yourself miserable and it's much easier to stick with it. When you are thinking of making a change ask yourself, if it's something you can do forever (If the answer is yes than great, if it's no .. rethink why you are considering that change)

I find it hard getting started again too! I first started in 2012 and lost 65lbs in about 10months. I ended up gaining 55 of those lbs back, and now I'm trying to lose it all again but finding it so hard!
